Very friendly reception. The nurses you can tell truly love the animals that are brought in. Very attentive. The vets are very thorough and nothing is ever missed. The Pet Plan they use is great value for money too. Nice big facility just on the outskirts of town too with good parking. Very clean and up to date. Highly recommend

We’ve been with McMurtry & Harding since 2006 and this is our 3rd dog registered with them. All dogs are rescue and have been treated so well with genuine concern for their wellbeing and ongoing health. We drive from Derby to stay with them because we are so pleased with them. Highly recommended.

Owning several parrots, I needed to find a vet locally, (without having to travel half way across the country) that has good, sound knowledge & experience in avian veterinary care and that wouldn't be phased or feel intimidated by my large, male Greenwing Macaw! Having done my research, I found Paul Revell at McMurtry & Harding at Ashbourne. I'm so glad I did! I instantly felt at ease talking to Paul about my parrots long, complicated medical history. Paul had the knowledge, expertise , confidence and professionalism that I was looking for. This was so reassuring, having previously, had poor experience of so called " Exotic vets". I would highly recommend seeing Paul regarding anything " parrot". He was great!

We took our greyhound there with a neck wound. Having had dogs most of our adult life, we had become quite cynical about vets. However, the member of staff we dealt with was objective, knowledgeable, clearly caring and offered multiple solutions. We felt we got a brilliant reception and service and couldn’t ask for a more pleasant experience. Highly recommended.

Independent vets not owned by some faceless money grabbing conglomerate. Vets are all very knowledgeable and friendly and they don't push unnecessary treatments. My dogs love going as they always get biscuits from the receptionists 😃

I cannot fault McMurtry & Harding for their exceptional service. From booking the appointment online, reminder messages about future appointments or repeat medication, checking in at reception, consultation, and booking appointments, the whole process is seamless. I highly recommend the Petclub which gives me peace of mind that my dog is covered all year for vaccinations, flea and worming on repeat prescription, nail clipping, and 6 monthly check ups.

We have used McMurtry and Harding ever since they had a branch back in Uttoxeter. We decided to stick with them despite having to drive from Uttoxeter to Ashbourne once they closed that branch. We recently had our little girl put to sleep and they were nothing short of absolutely professional and compassionate every step of the way. Throughout the years we have regularly seen both Sophie and Alison for our dogs issues and they have both been absolutely fantastic. When we get our next dog we will 100% be coming back here again because of everything they did for her. Wouldn't look anywhere else!

Best Avian vet within miles, Paul is so good with the parrots even occasionally having to endure a bite!! And he's so good with the parrots and so knowledgeable. It's a Lovely modern practice and within easy reach of Derbyshire and Burton ect. And an added bonus is that they have a lovely machine that makes you a coffee /tea/hot chocolate all free... Very welcoming reception staff. All in all a great veterinary practice.

An appointment booked very quickly. An excellent vet, he listened to my concerns and we discussed the options. I didn’t feel as though I was trying to be sold any treatments just for the sake of it. I could highly recommend them.
