I have been going to Mearley vet's for years now, the staff are amazing and so helpful and have such empathy when some of my fur babies have passed . I can not fault the vet's they are very professional and easy to talk to they give me the time to talk about my concerns.

Excellent vets. I recently had to have my beloved dog put to sleep, and they were incredibly kind, sympathetic, and supportive at a time when I was extremely upset. Even before that, I’d been with them for years, and they’ve always been excellent—both the Clitheroe and Accrington branches.

Always pleasant and helpful staff in reception who have been most helpful carrying my pet from and to my car for me whilst have been unable to do it myself

We needed to get our cat Sooty seen urgently, and after searching around I came across Mearleys. I rang them late in the evening and the lady I spoke to couldn’t have been more helpful. She asked if Sooty was registered with them, and when I explained that we are currently fostering him and he was registered elsewhere, she told me to quickly get him signed up on their website so they could book him in for the very next morning. No fuss, no judgement, just genuine concern that he needed to be seen. My mum kindly took Sooty to the appointment for us. She is deaf and sometimes finds conversations tricky in stressful situations, but she came back saying how helpful and patient the staff were with her. They gave Sooty a thorough check over, even bringing in a second vet for another opinion. That in itself showed more care and effort than we’d experienced at the emergency vets a few weeks earlier, where we paid almost £400 just to be told it was head trauma before being sent home with a steroid injection. Although the news about Sooty wasn’t good, the way Mearleys handled everything made a huge difference. They didn’t rush, they listened, and they genuinely seemed to care about both Sooty and us. It’s never easy hearing bad news, but it’s made so much more bearable when you feel like you and your pet are in the hands of people who actually care. Highly recommend Mearleys to anyone looking for a vet that goes the extra mile.

Unfortunately I have to give at least one start, just to put a review to say how disappointing and upsetting today’s visit to this practice was. The female vet was absolutely uncaring, not listening to my concerns about my dog’s eye, grabbing her abruptly while giving her a check up. Didn’t look like a person who should be allowed to work with pets! This was a follow up consultation, due to a misdiagnosis, in my opinion, previous week, another huge bill PLUS a charge of having to come back.. she wasn’t listening to my concerns, talking over and putting a blame on her other female colleague who checked my dog previously. Changed to these vets due to Barrowford clinic being 5min away, which by the way is never open. Would not recommend, my advice is to avoid… only pleasant person during this ordeal was a receptionist, who actually looked like a person who cares about pets and me leaving this practice in tears.

My 7month old kitten has recently been spayed, at the Accrington branch. The whole process from start to finish was seamless. Very friendly staff and the veterinary nurse was lovely and informative. Very good company and I would highly recommend them. Thank you!

Excellent vets, been taking our boxer dogs to Mearley vets for over 30 years. All the vets and staff are very helpful and professional, they have taken excellent care of our beautiful babies from being puppies to having to say goodbye to them in later life
