Have used this vet for over 30 years now and have built up trust over the years which I think is the most important aspect. The Personnel have changed but the service remains. They don't always get everything right ( who does ) but they have always been there for us through the good times and the bad.

Millhouse were a really wonderful vets at the start of my dogs life, and the staff are still incredible but you can feel how much cost cutting has affected the experience overall. A few years ago my dog had his first seizure, I rang millhouse in the middle of the night and the vet was really helpful, reassuring me that we could wait until the morning to see him and being so helpful and kind. A few weeks ago, he had another seizure and I rang in the middle of the night and was put through to a call centre. The operator told me he was not a vet, could not help me and could only make an appointment. A month or two ago, I sat in the waiting room while an owner was talking to reception about their dog that had been put down out of hours. They were meant to have received the ashes but had heard nothing. The receptionist told them they had no access to out of hours files and they'd have to contact them out of hours to find out. The owner was obviously devastated and this just added to the heartache. After hearing that, when my dogs time came recently, the stress of it happening out of hours weighed on me, thinking of that owner. The staff were always nothing but wonderful, but the costs are so high there and the cuts to the service cause a lot of pain to owners and their pets. If I have another pet, I won't go back to Millhouse and strongly recommend pet owners go elsewhere. Looking through other reviews, they seem to just blame bad experiences on their out of hours service and don't acknowledge that using this service is a cost cutting measure and they used to run their own out of hours service. This isn't an acceptable response and the corporate owners are choosing to put owners through horrible experiences in exchange for saving a bit of money.
