Called last night as my cat was dying and first thing discussed after asking what the problem is for couple seconds was about how expensive it will be as they were not my vets. Was the closest OOH vet and unfortunately my boy died on the way to the hospital. Probably couldn’t be saved but still different approach would be advised.

We had to visit this evening with our cat JJ. The vet we saw, Pam, was brilliant! Really reassuring, kind and explained everything fully. All staff members that we came into contact with were really lovely. Yes, it’s expensive but you can’t put a price on taking care of an incredibly loved member of the family!

Whilst I wasn’t expecting to have to use an emergency vet for my Syrian hamster Arlo, he became poorly and clearly had something going on with his breathing. The emergency vet we saw, David (I believe), was lovely. Arlo has been a trickier character than my previous hamsters (in temperament). From phoning with the concerns and throughout the whole visit, it was a very positive experience. David was very kind, thorough (as much as you can be with a small animal), and reassuring. It was obviously an experience that went onto my credit card but it was my decision to get Arlo and therefore my responsibility to try and keep him alive! So I just want to say thank you for your care and kindness, with Arlo, myself and my partner 😊! Hopefully his pneumonia gets better soon.

I rarely leave reviews, but felt I had to for Nightingale emergency vets in Chippenham. I wish I could remember the names of the ladies who helped my cat (19/8), they were incredibly friendly and caring. My boy stayed overnight, which is obviously distressing for both, but I felt reassured with how well I knew he would be looked after. Hopefully you never need to use them, but if you do, you’ll at least feel at ease. I got regular updates and any questions were answered straight away. Thank you!!

It was great to have an emergency vets so local to us; sadly the outcome wasn't good, but the team were very good and really tried their best to help. I do however believe that emergency veterinary corporates overall need to have some form of financial regulation, starting with the initial fee before any treatment has commenced and that stays should be charged on an hourly basis. Fortunately our cat was insured, but owners may be put off from getting help for their sick pet when faced with these astronomical charges.

Our cat Doris was referred to Nightingale to spend the night after a day of treatment at Chalkland Vets round the corner. The vet, Pam, looked after her extremely well, and their communication both with us and Chalkland was perfect and really helped Doris to recover as quickly as possible. I would absolutely trust Nightingale in case of an emergency- I hope I never have to!
