Welcome to Northway Veterinary Centre in Ormskirk, Lancashire! At our practice, we believe that pets are more than just animals, they are a beloved member of your family. That’s why we strive to provide our clients with compassionate and comprehensive veterinary care.
Our team of highly qualified professionals includes experienced veterinary surgeons and dedicated veterinary nurses who share a passion for animal care. Our principal veterinary surgeon, Mr Trevor Dixon, has years of experience and holds BVSc MRCVS qualifications. Dr Jonathon Kelly is another member of our team of veterinary surgeons, and he holds BVetMed MRCVS qualifications. Our veterinary nurses, Miss Karen Jones and Miss Catherine Halsall are also qualified professionals, and Karen is our head nurse.
At Northway Veterinary Centre, we offer a range of services, including vaccinations, routine check-ups, surgical procedures, and diagnostics. Our facility is fully equipped with advanced technology, allowing us to offer exceptional care to all of our patients.
We are proud to offer care to a wide range of species, including dogs, cats, birds, exotic animals, small mammals, wild animals, and poultry. Whatever type of animal you have, you can trust us to provide you with expert advice and assistance.
Our practice is conveniently located in Ormskirk, where we have a client car park to ensure that our clients can park their cars safely and comfortably. We also offer disabled public access, ensuring that our practice is accessible to everyone.
We understand that it can be challenging to schedule appointments during the week, so we offer extended hours to accommodate our clients, as well as opening our doors on weekends. Our practice is open from 8:30 am to 6:00 pm from Monday to Friday, from 8:30 am to 12.00 pm on Saturdays, and closed on Sundays.

On a day when the monopoly commission lunches a well needed review in corporate vets in UK. It is so important to support and appreciate those vets who care and pass the James Herriot test...animals always come first. North way vets are an exceptional practice of caring professional people, they helped us so much and would have been lost without them. I will always be so grateful for them taking us on when as ever they were so busy. Going far beyond in their care, I paid the bill and a guy waiting said oh how expensive. I told him as I tell anyone proper price for proper treatment, and luckily to have them !. Big thanks from us all...the Bs.

Highly recommend this practice, have been using them for many years. Jonathan’s care and compassion for our cat is much appreciated, along with his support for us. Sadly not the outcome we wanted, but our little one was in the very best hands to the end.

We have been bringing our dogs here for many years and have always received great support and advice and they have always been honest and reasonable with regards to treatment options. We felt particularly supported during a recent emergency. It was clear that all of the staff really cared and they were upfront and realistic with prognosis whilst doing everything they could to help. Thankfully, he pulled through and we couldn't thank the team more.

Great team.... saved my sheepdog's life when she had a horrible tumour on her ovaries. I work closely with vetinary team who help and guide me to manage Sheppie's diabetes condition so we can keep her alive and well- for 3 years now.
