We've been seen at a very short notice. The vet was lovely, professional, knowledgeable, listened to us and did thorough check. I was very impressed.

The most wonderful vets, I was from out the area and my dog had hurt himself, nothing was too much trouble, despite not being registered they waited for us on a Friday evening and treated my dog with the best care. I am so thankful to them and cannot recommend them more highly. So caring and a fabulous team.

From registering my cat to booking an appointment (same day ) to the appointment with Emma , I experienced such kindness, compassion and understanding . My normally scrappy cat turned into an amiable , happy to be handled bundle of sweetness! I don’t know how they did it - but thank you !

Such an incredible vets that always has our dogs best interest at heart. They always give great advice, we (myself and the dog) love the veterinary nurse Emily who always welcomes us with a warm smile and has recently helped massively with spotting my dogs tooth that I hadn’t seen that needed attention. The team make you feel welcome and I love how clean and modern the building is (there is also always parking so never struggled with this). My dog recently had a tooth out and he was sent home with a get well soon card which was very sweet. We will recommend this vets to anyone and thank the team for always being so amazing at what you do.

We are first time puppy owners and signed up to Portland Vets in Horley. Had our first appointment today and they were all amazing and puppy was so calm, didn't even bat an eyelid when she had her vaccinations. They even answered all our daft questions! Looking forward to the next visit!

I joined Portland Vets around a year ago when I was looking to have my dog spayed. I have received brilliant care for my cockapoo. The spaying took place in East Grinstead, where the staff were so lovely and understanding of my concerns (and emotions!). Since then I have visited the Horley branch for a number of appointments. Again, staff are lovely, and the vet that assisted us was very thorough, professional and knowledgeable. There is definitely more of a personal and caring feel here, as compared to a nationwide Vets we were using previously. I would 100% recommend Portland Vets.

We're new dog owners so we weren't sure what to expect but we'd been told Portland in Horley were good by a couple of friends who weren't local but had heard good things! They weren't wrong!! Every member of staff I've spoken to whether it be on the phone or in person has been extremely helpful, kind informative and friendly. Missy gets excited as we arrive in the driveway and can't wait to get inside which is the best review you could get really isn't it! Thanks everyone at Portland Vets Horley, we feel Missy and we are in safe and confident hands!

I rarely leave negative reviews, but I feel incredibly disappointed by the lack of compassion shown towards our family during one of the most difficult times we’ve experienced. We had been clients of Portland Vets for many years and spent a significant amount of money there over that time. Only a few weeks ago, my mum was receiving letters chasing a £43 fee relating to a sample that she had been told could simply be kept on file while she decided whether to proceed. At no point did she understand that a charge would still apply. More importantly, our 12-year-old dog, Alfie, suffered a torn Achilles tendon and we attended the practice as an emergency. We were advised that euthanasia was the kindest option, but were encouraged to go home and spend some time with him before making a final decision. We ultimately chose to have him put to sleep at home through a service that Portland Vets themselves recommended. What has upset me most is that neither the head vet nor the vet who saw Alfie contacted us afterwards. There was no phone call to check on him, no enquiry as to what decision had been made, and no expression of sympathy following his passing. My mum had to contact the practice herself, only to be told that they had seen the update and had already closed his account. After years of loyalty, I expected at least a courtesy call. Not because it would have changed the outcome, but because compassion matters. Losing a pet is heartbreaking, and the complete lack of follow-up left us feeling like a customer account had been closed rather than a much loved family member having passed away. I understand veterinary practices are busy, but a simple phone call would have meant a great deal to our family.
