I took my cat in and unfortunately he had to be put down. Although I can’t fault the vet the service I received following was nothing short of disgusting. I was informed of the wrong collection date to pick him up, I was informed of the wrong procedure for paying for the appointment and cremation and other misinformation. Upon raising this with the vets the first staff member I spoke to didn’t bother to deal with it, the second receptionist albeit it more helpful on the phone was being extremely unprofessionally in her call to the crematorium whilst trying to arrange to collect his ashes. I was then told he would be available the next morning and unsurprisingly the vets car ‘broke down’ and there was once again a delay I put in a complaint expecting it to be dealt with professional however upon going to retrieve my cats urn I was dragged into a room by not 1 but THREE staff members and berrated for the best part of 45 minutes whilst they refused to return his ashes to me until they were done lecturing me about how I have ‘lessons to learn’ despite them providing me with the wrong information on several occasions. During this meeting I was intimidated and belittled whilst sobbing and provided with grief material (nearly 2 weeks after he passed mind you, not on the day) to try and fob my complaint off. They took no accountability for their behaviour and just used the generic of ‘we will talk to the staff’ when they need a long look at themselves too During this entire situation it became evident that they had also breeched data protection by discussing myself/my cat with a relative of theirs and no apology was provided so it is being raised with the ICO. Upon asking for a SAR they also refused to provide me with the cctv, despite it working on the days in question (we witnessed the monitors) ABSOLUTELY WOULD NOT RECCOMEND TO ANYONE. APPALLING SERVICE WITH VILE OWNERS. Please think twice about using since posting about the surgery (and not even naming them) I have had several people come forward who have been mistreated. Take your pets elsewhere where they will be properly cared for both whilst alive and passed. I know they are fans of replying to these reviews so I would like to advise prior to their response I’m not just a disgruntled customer, my bill is paid in full and no services have been contacted against me. My boy deserved better and had I been given the right information the first time we would have made alternative arrangements to lay him to rest. Edit: to update on sore paws response that I was not intimidated… that is absolutely incorrect. I have a witness who was with me at the time and thank god they were because the male owner was shouting at me over the table and pointing his finger for accusing his staff of lying (they had). I was beside myself and they continued to hound me to get their points across without me having any real opportunity to pull myself together and present any of my evidence. I also have evidence that they discussed my cat with someone outside the surgery, but the fact remains that somebody not on my account at sore paws contacted me to tell me the owner was picking up my cat, without having any permissions to discuss it with anybody else. The meeting was absolutely not to hand my cats ashes over respectfully, it was to go through the complaint I had submitted and tear it apart to make me they problem or they would have handed his ashes over when requested and not 45 minutes later, despite me literally begging several times during the meeting for him. Not to mention they made a comment about having nothing to put him as the crem didn’t give them anything to put him in despite handing him over in a gift bag with the crematorium logo plastered all over it. They can pretend they did their best, but if that is their best I dread to think of what their worst was.

Have been visiting here with my ferrets since I moved summer 2024, they're one of the better vets I've been to over the years. They have a ferret specialist too, and they have all bent over backwards to accommodate my ferrets' needs and help them. The staff are all so very kind. Even when one was put to sleep, they were supportive the whole journey. I will continue to come here with my ferrets. I absolutely recommend them.

My 8 year old labsky Sasha has recently been diagnosed with diabetes. Sore Paws have been excellent with her. She's reactive and hates vet visits but they treat her with such care and went through everything clearly re: insulin injections and let me practice to make sure I was comfortable. They were so so kind and I can't thank them enough for helping us both. Sasha is now on the mend. Special thank you to Laurie, Dr Ross, Dr Agne, Emily, Abbey, Sofie and Jasmine.

I had a very disappointing experience with Sore Paws when my dog went in for a dental procedure. I dropped her off at 08:30 and was told the dental would start around 11:00 once the general anaesthetic was administered. However, I received no updates all day and eventually had to call at 17:00, only to be told the dental hadn't long started at that point. I was asked to make payment over the phone before collecting her at 18:15. When I arrived, she was still heavily sedated. She could barely walk, was drooling excessively, and couldn’t even stand to go to the toilet without my support. It was distressing to see her in that state. In my opinion, the clinic should have postponed the procedure if they were running behind, rather than rushing to complete it so late in the day and sending her home before she was properly recovered. To make matters worse, I was also incorrectly billed, and at no point during any of my three visits (including when I returned due to a complication) did I see or speak to a vet. Overall, my experience left me feeling that Sore Paws prioritises money and high turnover of appointments over the welfare and comfort of the animals in their care. Unfortunately, I would not recommend this veterinary practice.

I recently joined after moving to the area. So far I have been able to get a fast appointment and communication has been fantastic. The vet I saw (I didn't make a note of her name, possibly North American accent) was easily the best I have ever seen. She explained exactly what she was doing and why, she was kind and patient with my cat who is neither 😅, and gave great advice.

I took my 11 year old Border Collie in after he became lethargic and sad. He had tumours around his liver and was very poorly and need to be put to sleep. We were new to the area and this was our only encounter, but the staff were absolutely brilliant, from the reception team, to the vets and nurses, Buddy was the centre of everyone's focus. He was able to go peacefully and dignified and although we are completely devasted at the loss of him, we felt supported by the team. I would definitely recommend using these.

We had to take our 15 year old family dog, Suki, to be put to sleep tonight. It was a very difficult decision but the vet who dealt with us was wonderful and showed such empathy and compassion for us and for little Suki. We are so grateful to the vet for easing the pain of what was a truly heartbreaking decision.
