Following a recommendation, I made an appointment with Hugo Martins for my dog Samson. Following assessment, he needed TPLO surgery on both his hind legs. Hugo was professional, caring and explained everything in detail, even showing me models and videos of how the surgeries would be completed. Samson was in his first surgery within 4 days, with his 2nd surgery 14 weeks later. Hugo called and updated me personally after both surgeries. And following both 8 week xray appointments. He even did extra xrays at 2 weeks due to Samson holding his leg up. I can not fault the care Samson received from everyone at the Pet Vet. Everyone there are helpful, polite and professional. I would definitely recommend this practice. Thank you for giving Samson a normal life back

My family has always used The Pet Vet, from my first childhood dog to now having my own. The team are always so kind and caring. They were amazing with our little dachshund, Otto, when he needed leg surgery. Hugo and the team saw him straight away and supported us every step of the way. Otto is now healing well, and we’re so grateful for their fantastic care. Highly recommend!

My dog went in for BOAS surgery in my local vets. The vet Dr Hugo Martens was very professional and went through the procedure thoroughly with me. I was put at ease straight away. My dog had it done and couldn't believe the difference in her straight away. I was so pleased with the results, I can highly recommend him, my dog runs into the vets office which is unusual for any dog. If anyone is thinking about it on there braechaphalic dog i highly recommend, please get intouch with him.

Hugo recently carried out an operation on our Springer Spaniel. Prior to the operation, Hugo explained everything in complete detail to ensure we understood everything before going ahead. This really helped settle our minds and put us at ease, whikst always making himself available should we have any follow up questions or concerns. The support staff were also very helpful and supportive. The level of care our dog received and the support we received as owners could not have been better. Thank You Hugo and Team 🙂

Always brilliant and caring all the staff are really friendly. Mo’Chuisle (cat) 14yr old is really fussy but we never have a problem when we bring her. Loki our 9yr old border collie thinks it’s great because she loves all the attention. Nala is nearly 2yr old she’s a Lab x Springer she’s into everything and recently got a bad skin infection and the vets were brilliant with her ❤️🐕

Was due in yesterday for blood tests as we suspected cushings disease on my 16 year old dog but made an earlier appointment for Tuesday as my dog was being sick and was having bloody diareah, he’d not eaten for 48 hours and hadn’t drank for over 24 hours. The vet didn’t see bothered about this and just offered him an injection for pain relief and did his bloods £380 later then sent us on our way. Next day we called twice as we was concerned for our dog, finally got a call from the vet at 4pm, said his bloods were pointing to cushings but wanted us to have another £260 test to confirm, that wasn’t my concern as I’d explained he’d still not drank and was still being sick and had bloody diareah, so just invited us down for an anti sickness injection (more money) the nurse who gave him this injection explained everything and gave us a bottle of fluid that was an electrolyte hydrating drink for him. He couldn’t drink himself I ended up having to shringe fluid into his mouth. He got that weak he could barely stand, was so lethargic, his eyes were sunken and his mouth was so dry. We ended up making the difficult decision of having him put to sleep at home where he was comfortable and calm, instead of letting it get to serious where his organs start shutting down. I’d have hated to fetch him to pet vet dalton to spend his last moments, there’s absolutely no care here!! Just money money money.. I’ve also just logged on to my account to look at my dogs history and notice they’ve already wiped my dogs profile completely, not a single trace of him it’s not even beenn24 hours!! No email or call to say is this ok to do so, no I’m sorry for your loss. No sympathy at all!! Now as a family we’re left absolutely heartbroken as you failed to help him when he needed it most!!! £530 in 2 days for absolute no help what so ever!!
