The team at pet vet are nothing short of excellent, and provided such fantastic care for our dog Angus in his last year. Everyone from the reception/admin team through to the clinical staff couldn’t do enough to help and we would not hesitate to recommend them. Special thanks to Dr Niamh (vet) and Abi (nurse) who were both took such wonderful care of our boy. Thank you Pet Vet.

We had a first appointment for our very senior girl at nearly 16, at The Pet Vet Doncaster on Wednesday and we found the level of service, kindness and care shown to us and our dog to be exceptional. Our vet, Julie explained the appointment and treatment to us really clearly and though we couldn’t sit in on the acupuncture appointment, we knew our girl was in good hands. And she has improved considerably since the appointment. She has a host of mobility issues due to advanced osteoarthritis, hip and elbow dysplasia and spondylosis and she is starting to really struggle, but honestly, I’m not sure I can remember a time she looked so stable, happy and comfortable on her four rickety legs. We are so grateful to have found this practice who really go out of their way to make you feel welcome and looked after. If you are looking for a 10/10 practice, The Pet Vet Doncaster will be a hard one to beat. Exceptional!!

We had a very poorly cat on a Sunday, and we hadn't had chance to get him registered with a vet yet (actually we had enquired at another veterinary practice last week, but they hadn't been back in touch, and they were closed when we needed them). So I frantically did an online search for vets open on Sundays and was amazed I hadn't seen this practice on my previous research. It is nice and convenient for us to get to and as the reviews were good I thought we'd give them a call. They were so friendly and accommodating, and the practice is modern and clean. The receptionist is welcoming, helpful and put us at ease. The vets we have seen so far (over 2 visits) have both been fantastic with our cat and been very knowledgeable and clearly explained our options. They're very transparent about pricings and things. I'm actually very glad the other vet practice didn't get back to us, because this one is excellent!

We have had all three of our animals registered with this practice for a considerable period and, until recently, had not experienced any major concerns. In December, we brought our cat in after he developed a whistling sound from one nostril when breathing and was sneezing frequently. During the consultation, we clearly expressed our concern that there may be a foreign object lodged in his nostril. The vet advised that the symptoms were most likely allergy-related. While further investigations were mentioned as an option, the clinical advice and reassurance given led us to understand that these were not considered necessary at that stage. On the basis of that professional advice, we chose not to pursue additional diagnostics. Over the following weeks, his symptoms worsened and his eyes began watering. We returned to the practice and were seen by a different vet. On this occasion, we were informed that it appeared he had previously had a foreign body in his nose which had resulted in an infection. He was prescribed medication and pain relief. In our view, had the initial concern regarding a potential obstruction been more thoroughly explored at the first appointment, this may have been identified and treated sooner. We raised this through the formal complaints process but were advised that the practice did not believe any clinical error had occurred. We recognise that veterinary medicine involves professional judgement. However, as pet owners, we rely heavily on that judgement when making decisions about whether to proceed with investigations or treatment. The practice promotes itself as a caring, family-run business. While they may present this image, our experience suggests a focus on repeat visits and revenue rather than genuinely prioritising animal welfare. I share this experience so that other pet owners can make an informed decision, but my advice would be to avoid.
