Minus stars for this place but it doesn't give you the option. I don't recommend at all. Vet/staff ignored my request of testing my dying dogs urine and they threw it in the bin calling it 'miscommunication', obvious ignorance and neglect. I asked for the vet to ring me, waited 2 days and had to ring again and was told she didn't ring me due to the urine being thrown in the bin so I was ignored/avoided. Ignored my concerns of my dogs breathing changes, prescribed medication when he couldn't take it. Changed appointment time without any explanation or apology and then cancelled it 9 minutes before the appointment, again zero apology and I had already made the journey. Their offer of compensation is a photo in a frame of my dog, it shows what they think of customers who have spent thousands.

It's been a while since we were last here. Staff polite and friendly. Vet the same. We knocked a star off as we had to wait over 20 mins past our appointment to be seen, which didn't help our stressed dog.

I would like to say a huge thank you to everyone at The Pet Vet in Barnsley for their wonderful customer service and kindness. I called rather late in the day to request a repeat prescription for my rabbit, Esme. Debbie was so friendly and explained that it normally wouldn’t be possible to reorder over the weekend, and advised me to call back on Monday. However, within just a few minutes, Debbie kindly rang me back to say that she and Luke, one of the vets, had managed to sort everything out for me and that I could collect Esme’s medicine that very same day! The kindness, thoughtfulness, and care shown to both me and Esme was truly lovely and very much appreciated. Debbie went above and beyond to help, and it was absolutely brilliant customer service. Thank you all so much!

I’ve been with The Pet Vet for over 10 years now—right back to when it was just a shipping container in a car park—and I honestly wouldn’t take my dog anywhere else. The staff are always so lovely, welcoming, and genuinely helpful. It’s easy to get an appointment when you need one, prices are fair, and the team are incredibly knowledgeable. The customer service is A* every single time. My older dog absolutely loved visiting, especially for the fuss and attention from the reception staff, which always made it a positive experience for him. And my new rescue had a brilliant first visit too—the team were so patient, understanding, and kind, which made a big difference. Couldn’t recommend them highly enough!

My baby boy MC was well cared for by the amazing staff. I cannot praise enough Martyna G. , she sorted out my boy's dental malocclusion. She is very caring and from the first vaccine visit I could see her love for animals and that she genuinely cares. We had many post op checks and we have seen loads of nurses and they are all amazing. And not to forget about the lovely Receptionists, always so helpful and so welcoming. Thank you so much for looking out for our fur babies.

1st time going to this vets with my German Shepherd Lexi. From the minute you walk in the staff are so friendly and helpful. Saw a wonderful vet Ana, she explained clearly what was going off with Lexis ongoing ear infection . Two previous well known vets I had been to just kept fobbing me off. Ana was also able to examine Lexi which is really difficult as she is very nervous and always in guard mode! Thank you Ana , I came out feeling relieved that someone actually cared about my dogs well being. Would not hesitate to recommend The Pet Vet, thankyou.

Recently moved from Sheffield and brought one of our cats for his yearly booster. I was greeted by friendly staff throughout our visit. Very modern and clean waiting room, I was offered a hot drink and there is a separate waiting area for dogs and small animals. Parking is very good and the price of the booster was almost half of what we have previously paid. Overall an excellent experience.

Receptionists are so friendly !! Always a warm welcome which you don’t get often in vets. Had a bit of an issue with one of the locum vets not inputting any information on the system, however he was very good and spent the time to explain things. David & Hannah are also excellent. I just want to ask one thing that you look after your staff please & in return they will look after you. Thank you

This place is absolutely wonderful. Such kind and caring and empathetic staff members from the front of house lady to the Vets. I took my hamster here to be euthanised and had a consultation the week before and they made everything the best it possibly could be at such an awful time. I am now going to transfer the care of my dog to these people. So grateful for everything. This place gives care that other vets just don’t give: and that means such a great deal, especially in a difficult time. Thank you
