Absolutely horrified at the service we have received after my dogs death. The clinic staff were lovely whilst my dog had surgery however, his conditioned worsened after the surgery when he needed blood transfusion and unfortunately we have to have him PTS. Now the treatment to this point was great and the clinic staff were nice, however following his death it went hugely down bank. Firstly, we had to pester the team on multiple occasions to send through the cremation information as they said they would only hold his body for a day, so we were panicking we would lose him if we didn't sort it quickly. They kept saying they would send it through on the phone, but never did! So eventually after trying 3 times, we went into the clinic and were told it had been sent, ''but mustn't of gone through''. Strange, as we had received all the invoices to our email but not this? A £1000 deposit was paid in the clinic and we gave our insurance policy details to the lady on reception to go through the insurance and were told this was all in hand. Then at 7:30pm and again at 9:50pm the vets finance department rang us with an awful attitude, no compassion for losing our dog whatsoever saying we have money outstanding and they were going to send creditors round if we didn't sort it immediately. It said on their system we weren't going through insurance and hadn't paid our money. A mistake and lack of communication of their side that led to us getting the backlash. What was already a really sad time for us was made worse by the bad attitude of the lady from their finance department who made us feel like criminals and was demanding documents at 10 to 10 at night. No compassion at all and very rude. Once our dog had died it was like they just didn't care about anything but the money, which I understand people need to get paid, but we had paid and told it was all inland. We were upset about losing our beloved pet and it's just the last thing you need. It's a shame as the staff internally and the vets were lovely.

We travel abit to go to this practice but in our opinion it’s the best. Staff are warm and friendly, nothing is too much and they always seem to really care about the animals. I never feel rushed and they are thorough when treating my dogs. They are probably more pricey than other practices but not hugely and it’s worth it just to have that peace of mind.

We had to take our cat to the outside of hours service. We were told the consultation price of £310! They need to do a scan another £200! They gave her an injection to help reduce the water building up in her lungs £30. We agreed to take her home with tablets to help with fluid. Unfortunately she deteriorated quickly while at home so we made the sad description to take her back for the final time. They knew why we were going so no consolation needed. We had a very clinical un emotional service and decided to bring her home and take her to green acres for a cremation. They gave us another bill £310 for convolution and another £300+ for the sedative I had to ask for and the fatal injection. I knew it was going to be expensive but £500+ for one appointment then £600+ for the next one I wouldn't recommend them for anyone. That's the second time I have had to take a family pet to out of hours for the same outcome. Heartbroken is an understatement and feel like they take advantage of people in emotional de-stress.

I’ve had multiple animals over the years who have been at different vets, and can honestly say Lyme Tree Vets have been the best Vets I’ve ever been to so far. The space is always clean. Very friendly staff and vets. My cockapoo had dental treatment done last year, and they handled her with great care and they were happy to explain things as many times as I needed before treatment took place. We are not longer living in the area and I’ve had to find a new vet for my animal, and my experience with Lyme Tree Vets has made it difficult to choose another vet, as their service is unmatched. Thank you

TL;DR - Admin team are lovely, vet I saw was lovely, costs are given up-front before work is committed. Can't fault them. As a first time pet owner there's a LOT to get used to very very quickly, and a surprise infection in our first week is another thing on the list! The admin/reception team were immediately so welcoming, really helpful in getting our friend registered and are clearly animal lovers themselves. The waiting room is calm, quiet and clean. Booking an appointment is super easy and can be done online, just give as much info as possible about the symptoms your pet is experiencing as this saves some time during the appointment. I saw a lovely vet who did her best to put my very nervous animal at ease, and examined her with a firm confidence that got the job done with minimal distress. We have testing lined up, we know how much that will cost already, the reception staff were then so helpful in explaining to me (a total amateur) how to collect the sample for them. Can't fault my experience at all. Think my pet was more nervous about some of the other animals in the waiting room than anything else, but is much the same when we're not at the vets!
