I had an appointment with the vet at Wellpets on 9 April. The receptionist was welcoming and helpful and the vet was very good in discussing with me the needs of my pet and gave very useful information. The surgery was clean and welcoming. I was really happy with my visit and would recommend them to local residents.

This practice should be ashamed. Avoid if you can. Firstly. This practice did not privide a breakdown of the bill. Just a reciept. I expect thats jot to alert you to the overchanging. I understand we will pay a lot just to speak to vet but £68 Inc VAT for 10 minutes shows they care about money more than your pet. Further more, we have been charged an additonal £59.83 for ear drops that anyone can get online for £12.49. The exact same brand and quantity. Absolutely rip off. Well Pets you have lost a new custoner. Anyone reading, please go somewhere else. We have phoned around after later asking for and recieving the breakdown bill. No one is as expensive is this place. Edit. Thanks for your standard generic reply. You have been contacted. You haven't replied

Lovely friendly reception staff, very nice to our dogs, clinician was very caring to my two dogs and very helpful recommending products to help one of our dogs feel less anxious when travelling long distance.

I am extremely disappointed with the level of care my dog, Benny, received at Well Pets following a dental procedure in July 2025. Fourteen teeth were removed. After surgery, Benny was in severe pain, bleeding heavily from the mouth, and unable to eat or drink. Despite multiple return visits, his condition worsened. An emergency vet later discovered open, un-sutured extraction sites that had become infected, requiring further surgery, hospitalisation, IV fluids, and a feeding tube. The additional treatment cost around £4,000 and caused great distress to both Benny and myself. I have raised a formal complaint with the practice, but their response has been unsatisfactory. I feel the standard of care fell well below what should be expected, and I would urge other pet owners to ask careful questions about post-operative care and available facilities before proceeding with dental surgery here. I certainly was not aware prior to his surgery they do not have dental Xray facilities on site despite routinely performing dental surgery. I have now progressed my complaint to the RCVS. Attached is a photo of Benny showing the state of his mouth following surgery at Well Pets prior to me having to take him for emergency treatment. Enough said.

Always feel welcome and due to my rescue dog that trusts no man due to her ill treatment with her owner before being rescued by the animal shelter. She is becoming a little more trusting as I introduce her to men, asking them to gentle put their hands out for her to sniff then to gently stroke - It is working and she is becoming more trusting….
