Welcome to the Acorn House Veterinary Hospital, a well-established, family-friendly veterinary practice nestled in the quiet town of Bedford in the lovely county of Bedfordshire, England. We are staffed with a dedicated team of highly trained professionals to offer the very best healthcare service available for an incredibly diverse range of species, including dogs, cats, birds, exotic animals, wild animals, and small mammals.

Our hospital boasts state-of-the-art facilities that offer convenience, accessibility, and top-quality care for our loyal clients and their furry, feathery, or scaly family members. With a client car park on-site and disabled public access, visiting our practice couldn’t be any easier. Acorn House Veterinary Hospital remains open at weekends to accommodate the busy schedules of our clients, with the following hours of operation:

Monday to Friday: 08:00 am – 20:00 pm Saturday: 08:00 am – 16:30 pm Sunday: Closed

Led by director Dr Katharine Nelson (VetMB BA MSc PgC(SAS) MRCVS) and principal Dr Sheldon Middleton (VetMB BA MA MRCVS), Acorn House Veterinary Hospital is composed of various departments, each consisting of a team of well-qualified, kind-hearted individuals with a passion for animal care. Our veterinary surgeons include the highly skilled Dr Rebecca Bostock (BVetMed MRCVS), Mrs Mayra Andrade Marina (MRCVS) and Miss Aleksandra Chwalinska (MRCVS).

In our nursing department, head nurse Mrs Kerry Skinner (RVN DipAVN(Surgical)) spearheads the team of talented veterinary nurses, which includes Miss Amy Bowler (RVN), Miss Lucy Clark (RVN), Mrs Sharon Dawes (RVN) and Mrs Carla Gelder (RVN). This dedicated group of professionals is not only responsible for assisting our veterinarians during consultations and surgeries but also carries out tasks such as post-operative care and rehabilitation. Additionally, our team is complemented by advanced practitioners, specialists who provide the highest quality of care within their area of expertise.
