Absolutely shocking overpricing. Suspected our 5 yr old Brit was suffering from Pyometra so tried to book an appointment. Was told we could have an emergency appointment same day. About £75 rings a bell. Asked when next available normal price booking was and was told following day so we booked. Surprise surprise. A phone call to say they could get her in at 3.30 that day. I wonder if by chance that would of been the time for the emergency booking? Then it gets worse. Charming knowledgeable young vet checks her over and has same suspicions as us re pyometra. Would need an ultra sound to confirm. When asked how much we were looking at if she needed the op was told including hospitalization we were looking at £2.5 to £3k. She was told no way should it ever be anywhere near that price and told her to do the scan and confirm but we would be ringing around for quotes for the op should it be needed. Unfortunately diagnosis was as feared but she had in meantime spoken to her boss and if we were willing to wait for next day. As in normal hours they could do it for around £1500 ish providing everything went ok. We paid the £160.00 bill for the ultra sound, consultation and antibiotics we insisted on to at least give her a chance. Within five minutes I had our Effie booked into a vet in York for 08.00 this morning. At 09.00 they called me to say she was out of surgery and all had gone well and she was sleeping it off. At 10.00 I was called to collect her. Was given all the advice needed and the medication she needed. £650 Yes Old Registry. £650. On what planet did you come up with your prices? £650 hurts but is do able. £3k is at the mark where you say die in pain or euthanasia. As is, now my pet is home and recovering. You should be ashamed of yourselves especially as you pride yourselves as being independent. I think even Medivet would be cheaper than you. Truly truly shocking.

Went to this vets today 24/5/26 as out of hours service for my dog the person I seen was David this man was the best vet I have ever spoken to . Kind , compassionate, understanding explained his thoughts and what he wanted to do we had an ultrasound then he explained what he found and the options we had all the time talking with deep empathy. He is a massive positive contribution to this practice we will have to go back in a few weeks my only negative thought would be if when we go back we have to see a different vet . Whatever the outcome is with out beautiful dog this guy was amazing we have a local vet we use but obviously being a Sunday they wasn't open. i'm so chuffed they wasn't and it forced me to find a surgery that was open once again David is a massive positive for this company

I attended Old Registry Vet today at 2:30pm for my dog’s booster appointment, whilst also collecting worming and flea treatment. From the moment I arrived, I was met with an exceptionally warm welcome from Elise, a new veterinary practitioner at the practice, whose friendly manner, genuine warmth and cheerful smile immediately put both myself and my dog at ease. Once in the consultation room, Elise continued to demonstrate an outstandingly caring and compassionate approach. She possesses a wonderfully natural ability to reassure and create a calm, comfortable environment for both owner and pet alike — a quality that is truly invaluable. Every aspect of the appointment was handled with the utmost professionalism, care and attention, and everything discussed was explained thoroughly and dealt with brilliantly. Elise is, without question, a breath of fresh air and a most welcome addition to the practice. Her warmth, professionalism and natural rapport are immediately apparent, and I would not hesitate for a moment to recommend her most highly to anybody seeking excellent veterinary care.

Great vets sorted our pooch on many occasion and unfortunately when his time came they were great... came to our house and euthanized him, very understanding and caring helped us through this awful time. Sorted the crem and keepsakes we wanted. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend these guys (and gals). Very reasonably priced all things considered.

George my Doberman is always relaxed when visiting Old Registry vets, George has had epilepsy for over 9 months now, they diagnossed George very quickly and sorted the tablets that control his fits. We visit on a regular basis and all staff are fantastic.

I realised late on Saturday night that my dog and best friend had Pyometra and not only at first contact but throughout the calls and visit we made we encountered outstanding compassion, care and reassurance (not to mention patience) from every member of the team at the Old Registry, being open 24 hours and far more affordable than corporate services literally saved my dogs life. The vet was super. the reception staff were super, the nurses were super. Margot was registered in the early hours of Sunday morning as she was deteriorating quite rapidly so we could use their services. I cannot thank you all enough, Margot is recovering so well and I am so glad I decided to go to the Old Registry. The reassurance I felt leaving Margot in their care was priceless.
