We cannot recommend Happy Paws Vets in Aberdare highly enough. If we could give them more than five stars, we certainly would! Since autumn, (and multiple times in the last 3 weeks) we have been back and forth with our beloved senior Persian double rescue, Fluffy. The level of care, expertise, and genuine compassion we have received from Vitalie and the entire team has been nothing short of extraordinary. We want to highlight the incredible kindness and empathy Vitalie has shown throughout this journey. It is so evident that he has a genuine love for animals; he treats Fluffy with such gentleness and heart that it’s clear he views his patients as more than just cases. That level of sincere devotion is exactly what you hope for when your pet is unwell, and it has meant the world to us. Going "Above and Beyond" is an Understatement What truly sets this practice apart is their incredible dedication. The team has stayed well past the end of their shifts to ensure Fluffy was stable and cared for. Most remarkably, there was an instance where Vitalie was on his way home and our cat had passed out, only to turn back and return to the surgery to treat our poorly boy. Happy Paws consistently proves that they put the animals first. The medical care is top-tier, but the emotional support they provide to owners is equally impressive. Everyone at the practice—from the receptionist to the nursing staff—is incredibly kind. They understand the stress of caring for a sick senior pet and have always taken the time to explain things clearly to us, offering comfort and reassurance during some very difficult months. If you are looking for a vet in that offers professional excellence combined with a deeply personal, "extra mile" approach, look no further than Happy Paws. We are so grateful to Vitalie and the team for everything they have done for Fluffy. We would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone who wants the very best for their pets.

I recently transferred to this vet after a very negative experience with my previous one, where it often felt like unnecessary blood tests and costs were the priority. After that experience, I was honestly quite anxious about visiting another vet, especially as my dogs had been quite traumatised by the last few visits there. However, Vitalie treated both my dog and me with genuine kindness and empathy. It’s clear that he truly cares about animals and wants the best for them. That compassion has made such a refreshing difference. Thanks to his care, my dog is now comfortable in his final months, which means a great deal to me. Because of this positive experience, I will now be transferring the rest of my pets here as well. Thank you for restoring my faith in vets.

I recently had need of an out of hours vet when my daughter's elderly hamster quickly deteriorated and was very distressed. The price quoted by my own practice out of hours service was shocking, so I reached out to Happy Paws. I'm so glad I did. If I was local I would absolutely register my pets here. Vitalie couldn't have been kinder, showing such empathy to both my daughter and her hamster. Despite the late hour, he was patient and didn't make us feel rushed at all. As another reviewer said, he is more concerned with animals than money. I completely agree, and highly recommend this vets practice.

First time visit and Jim on reception was obviously a caring man. Worked in the industry for many years. Very cognitive of potential threats from other pets. Vitalie, the vet, gave my dog the most comprehensive examination I’ve ever experienced in over 50 years of dog ownership. The nurses were attentive and supportive. This practice is true to the care of your pet. If you’re stuck in a corporative practice that only wants to empty your bank account visit happy paws.

Absolutely amazing practice and staff are incredible. Highly recommend. Helped our two year old retriever who was having sudden, unexpected seizures. Called and had two nurses waiting when we arrived. Our boy had an overnight stay where the amazing vet stayed with him to monitor him and make sure he was cared for through the night. Multiple update calls directly from the vet. We now have him back at home and are so grateful for their compassion, fast and thorough testing and treatment and expertise all around. I would not go anywhere else they are amazing. Thank you all so much ☺️

Moved to this vet after being with the last vets for 15 years ,would highly recommend excellent friendly service and care , from Jim and lady's on reception to the lovely caring vet, who explained in full whats wrong and the options going forward. My sheepdog Lizzy is nervous of people she is unsure of ,but was more than happy for the vet to examine her .I left the practice and registered my other dog here when I got home as I felt my dogs are in the best care here. Also there is lots of parking available and car park opposite to make each visit easy .

Can honestly say we are glad Happy Paws Vets was suggested to us. Not only that it was from two different people on the same day. We were greeted by Evie and Loki took to her straight away,it was as though they had known each other for ever. We were then introduced to Vitalie and once again Loki made friends straight away. What a pleasure it is to walk into a vets and have your beloved pet feel so at home. Thank you both 🐾🐾 We both highly recommend this place so if you’re looking for a veterinary practice or need to move to one we will say don’t look any further. Loki and Thor will say the same
