I have always had an amazing experience with this place. My last cat, Cookie, who lived for 25 years, always went to this vet and they always made sure to handle her with so much love and care. My little brother now has a cat and she goes to the same vet, and they are always so nice and lovely to her as well.

Goddard saw my cat immediately after he came into contact lily pollen (WARNING TO ALL CAT OWNERS: Lily flowers are extremely poisonous and fatal to cats if not treated straight away- I wish I had know ) even with my cat having trust issues with vets and can come across quite aggressive they were super patient with him! Really lovely knowledgable team. Thank you

Been with this vet for god knows how many years. Visited again with my cat. But notice the hygiene after 2 dogs had been attended in the same room was rather hygienic. Cats and dogs have different Aliments of illness. My cat is an indoor cat and doesn’t go outside. The treatment table had not been cleaned or wiped down I could feel and see before care to 2 other dogs before my cat was seen which concerned me although I didn’t mention it at the time. Wish I had. Treatment isn’t cheap so would expect a more professional approach. Today my cost was over £129 to be told there was nothing to be worried about so basically it’s cost a lot of money for nothing. Very disappointed with hygiene but not so much the cost although rather expensive for a cat that hasn’t anything wrong! Signed ms Pierre-Louis cat owner of LUPITA

Do not take your pets to Goddards Hackney or Goddards Wanstead. THEY NEARLY KILLED MY CAT. I brought my cat in multiple times over A WEEK and told every single vet that I believed she had a hairball obstruction. I was dismissed every time. She was hiding, wasn’t eating, was vomiting, hadn’t passed faeces for days and still no one took it seriously. What’s especially frustrating is that my repeated concerns and assessment of the situation and requests for help were conveniently not reflected in their notes! At one of the emergency appointments, I was actually scolded for giving my cat Metacam, something I only did because I was desperate after being repeatedly sent home while she got worse. Instead of taking responsibility, they blamed me. When they finally admitted her, rather than doing a thorough exam, they carried out an enema that was UNNECESSARY and UNSUCCESSFUL, doubling the bill. She then needed surgery to remove the obstruction, the exact issue I had been raising from the start. After going through their complaints process, they offered a refund for one emergency consultation and nothing else. Obviously they are not able to deny on that occasion they misdiagnosed. Then, once I had no further way to challenge it internally, they sent the rest of the bill to collections, forcing me to pay thousands for care that was clearly mishandled. There’s basically no real escalation beyond their internal process, so I’m writing this to warn other pet owners. If you value your pet and want to be listened to, go somewhere else.

Try somewhere else if you have a pet insurance that is not theirs. I've been going to this practice since adopting my French Bulldog over 7 years ago. Things have changed dramatically in recent times. I usually file insurance claims to be paid directly to them. But they have refused to take them on but rather make me pay hundreds of pounds on the spot or they would 'refuse to return my pet back to me'. Although they claim they have mentioned this to their customers in the past, I don’t recall being told filing direct claims wasn’t doable anymore or why. All of my claims have been sorted this way and I have always paid the difference on time. Anyway, I do know now that Goddard Group won’t be taking any more direct claims for reasons I cannot understand. As a business, you certainly have the option to say no, but I still don’t know why this is no longer an option for me (and others). I have to say this feels a little bit personal, to say the least. I say this after one of the vets (Niven Packery BVSc MRCVS) told me that I have had a debt of thousands of pounds in the past (sic) which I left unpaid for a long time. Again, if you have something to demonstrate on this front, please go ahead so I can make sense of such demoralising accusations in front of other customers and raising his voice. Also, why is a professional raising his voice to deal with payment matters? On a separate issue, the personal treatment I have received at the branch from both staff and the above vet was extremely poor. I can only say without a doubt that the amazing Jean Rourke MVB MRCVS was the only one who handled the situation in the utmost professional way, resolving the issue in a matter of minutes. I wish for more Goddard personnel to be as efficient and respectful as she is. I have now decided to go somewhere else.
