We had a very disappointing experience at every level within the practice. As a result we have moved our pet to another practice. After preliminary investigations, our pets condition was presented to us and immediately we were presented with options, both of which were life changing for our pet. Hours later we were advised that the costs had been pre-approved for the insurers and we were asked to quickly make our decision on which course of action. Given the gravity we chose to take the biopsy and our dog to another local practice who carefully reviewed the whole case and calmy explained the situation, giving us sufficient detail to firstly understand the nature of the condition, and secondly which path would be considered most appropriate at this stage. Although the condition was diagnosed the same at both practices, the options for treatment were considerably different and no pressure was applied to make a swift decision. When we attempted to discuss the situation with Kingston, and request a review, we were eventually offered a response by letter following an 'internal review'. The letter contradicted the response we hade received at the time of the consultation, we were mystified. We, the client, were not even approached as part of the review, which makes the whole process a worthless and invalid. Elements of our request were ignored entirely. We still await a proper review but everyone at the practice is reluctant to speak with us in person.

We cannot thank the team at Kingston Veterinary Group (Park Street) enough for the incredible care and compassion they showed during a devastating time for our 22-month-old cat, Cheddar. When Cheddar took a turn for the worse, the staff were incredibly helpful. A special thank you to the team member from vets now who phoned us back after booking an initial emergency appointment with themselves, toward Kingston veterinary groups own out-of-hours clinic that was still open , saving us significant emergency consultation fees. Once at the clinic, the vet was phenomenal. She was patient, nurturing, and thorough during his examination. She provided frequent phone updates—even late at night—which gave us such peace of mind. She was also incredibly mindful of our insurance limits and offered brilliant, empathetic advice. Sadly, despite their best efforts, Cheddar had to be put to sleep. The level of care following his passing was truly extraordinary: Compassion: The staff were visibly moved and teary-eyed, showing a genuine love for the animals they treat. Closure: They allowed us to bring our other pets in to say goodbye to Cheddar, which meant the world to us. No Pressure: We were given all the time we needed and never felt rushed. They were tactful regarding fees and cremation options, even praising local services rather than pushing their own. Follow-up: The vet personally called the next day to offer her condolences, which was a beautiful, unexpected touch. Though the outcome was heartbreaking, the team’s kindness, professionalism, and genuine care for our feelings as owners made a world of difference. Thank you to everyone—from reception to the clinical team—for treating Cheddar like your own. 🐾🪽🐈

I brought my cat to the emergency vets last night after noticing he was extremely unwell. Cannot remember the name of the vet or the receptionist who I dealt with as I was & still am distraught for having to put my boy down, but they showed so much compassion during this really difficult time. My only downfall would be vets as a whole, know how much pets are like family so we are willing to pay whatever price to do what’s best for them but prices should be looked at to stop people from getting into debt to care for their loved pets ❤️

Just been in with 2 anxious 10yr old pooches. Nails cut. From initial appt booking, to going inside reception, to nails getting trimmed, to leaving.... 100% the easiest visit to the vets we have ever had! THANKYOU to the amazing staff!! So very grateful!!

We were squeezed in at the very last minute with a neglected puppy who desperately needed checking over, and the team were absolutely fantastic from start to finish. Every member of staff showed genuine care, patience, and compassion, despite how busy they clearly were. They took the time to thoroughly examine her, explain everything clearly, and make sure she was comfortable and safe. Their kindness made such a stressful situation so much easier, and we left feeling completely reassured that she was in the best possible hands. I honestly couldn’t recommend this surgery enough incredible service, amazing people, and truly dedicated to the animals they look after. Thank you so much for everything you did for her.

Mariana and the whole team at Kingston Vets are amazing! We have been coming here for the almost 10ish years and are always welcomed with a smile. My dog used to be impossible for strangers (including my previous veterinary practice) to touch, but since day one at Kingston Vets he just sits as good as gold. Thank you for all your kindness, support and a special mention to Mariana for going above and beyond for us. Thank you so much!

I had a really upsetting experience at this vet clinic. My young budgie had hit its head on the cage late at night, around midnight, and injured its leg badly. I didn’t know what to do at that time, so I tried to look for any bleeding or anything on the budgie, after that I called vets now, I gave them all my details the whole process took a very long time I was stressed I had no way of helping the bird, after the person on the phone finished talking for 30 minutes I said yes to there questions and ended the call because they were not helping they just said we have booked an emergency appointment at Kingston vets. I also have an unwell grandma at home and my family was on holiday at the time, this was at 12am I put the bird in a box with blankets and soft padding so that it was comfortable and went outside in the dark to Kingston vets which was 20 minutes from my house. When I arrived, I was shown into a room with my bird and told someone would come soon. I ended up waiting over 40 minutes, with my budgie in visible pain, screaming non stop and trying to stand on its injured leg. It was heartbreaking to just sit there not knowing what to do. I eventually went out to ask why no one had come yet, and only then did they say someone would be with me soon. After another 10 minutes, a vet came in and said they would put the budgie on oxygen to help it calm down and hopefully recover a bit before checking it again. When it woke up, it had a stroke, which the vet said had likely caused brain damage. After that, the vet told me the kindest option would be to put it to sleep permanently. I agreed because I could see that there was no saving it, even though I was devastated, and I asked about the cost. I explained I only had £5 on me at the time and thought it would be okay because it was a small budgie, I have never been to an emergency vets before. The owner said that was fine. But when I went to reception afterward, they told me the total was £190 and that I had to pay it because over the phone I had agreed to pay any costs required. I’m only 17, and I don’t have that kind of money. I left feeling really heartbroken — not only because I lost my budgie, but because of how the situation was handled. I came to get help for my bird, not to wait nearly an hour with it in pain and then be given a £190 bill after being told my £5 was fine. I hope the clinic learns to handle emergencies with more compassion, clearer communication, and more understanding for young pet owners who come in genuinely trying to save their pets. I want to leave a very bad review but I’m not that sort of person. This was my situation.
