The staff are genuinely friendly, caring and lovely with pets, but I left feeling completely disgusted by the cost of the medication. I was charged just under £50 for worming tablets and over £75 for just three flea tablets. When I checked the receipt, it looked like I’d been charged for a full box of flea tables because it stated “box of 72.” I queried this immediately when I got home, hoping it was a mistake, but I was told the price was correct. When I raised the issue and stated you could buy the exact same tablets online for just over £5 each, the receptionist giggled and agreed. Charging that kind of markup for flea treatment feels completely extortionate and honestly, like customers are being taken advantage of. Especially when the health plan you offer, which includes flea and worm tablets and more benefits, costs less every month than buying the flea and worm tablets separately. I then asked if I could return them, considering I had only left the practice five minutes earlier and live two minutes away, but was refused because they “couldn’t guarantee how the medication had been stored” since leaving the building. This explanation felt absurd for flea and worming tablets, which are stored in blister packs, had been sitting in a box behind the reception desk, hardly in a tightly controlled temperature environment! This is also a contradiction as I had previously sent back flea treatment as was issued a different kind than usual. What frustrates me most is that nobody went through the costs beforehand. If I hadn’t specifically asked for a receipt after paying, I would never have understood why the bill was so outrageously high. I understand vets need to make a profit and that some markup on medication is expected, but charging over £25 for a single flea tablet is completely unreasonable.

I had a really upsetting experience at this practice during an out-of-hours visit with my dog. My dog was eating normally, behaving like himself and did not have a temperature. I attended for what I understood to be a hotspot, however the treatment escalated very quickly without any proper discussion. He was given three injections (antibiotic, anti-inflammatory and antihistamine) without these being clearly explained beforehand—I only found out after asking. At no point was I given options or asked for consent before treatment was carried out. I would have preferred to start with oral medication and monitor at home, but that option was never discussed. When I queried whether this level of treatment was necessary, I was not given a clear explanation. I was then charged £171 just to clip and clean a small area, on top of consultation fees, injections and medication, which I find excessive. Most concerningly, my dog was extremely distressed after the visit—standing still with his head down and making retching-type noises—and has not been himself since, which has been very upsetting to see. I have used this practice before and never had an issue when seeing the usual vet, which makes this experience even more disappointing. Overall, I felt completely out of control of my dog’s care, with poor communication and no transparency around treatment or costs. I will not be returning and would strongly advise others to ask for full explanations, options and costs upfront before agreeing to any treatment.

Highly recommend!! I’ve had two rabbits pass recently and visited this vets. The staff there are just so incredible, both times I’ve fallen apart and both times I’ve been supported like family, all the staff went above and beyond with getting a keep sake, calling me days later to check on me and sent a hand written card with the sweetest words. Can’t recommend them enough!

Had to get my 12 year old rabbit out to sleep a few weekends ago as she was struggling to use one of her back legs. As a 24/7 vet we took her in on a Sunday and wasn't really offered any other options but pts, given her age even though she perked up on site I agreed. We were left to say our goodbyes but the service felt pretty un personal and rushed. I've had several pets over my lifetime and it's always hard to say goodbye but generally the vets will offer medication and tests to investigate. Likewise normally a condolences card is very the minimum in terms of follow up but nothing from medivet here either.

Took my 11 week old kitten here to get vaccinated and microchipped. Vet and staff were amazing and so helpful. We set up an annual plan of £14.50 a month which included and covered all his vaccinations, microchipping and 2 6 monthly health checks and flea and worming medication for the year. Highly recommend this option if you have a kitten.

Thank you to the entire medivet night team. My sausage dog had ingested a dangerous foreign body, I called medivet and they saw him straight away. They treated him safely, reassured us and did not add any unnecessary costs/treatments. I paid upfront for the service and after contacting my insurance company, medivet also completed the forms and sent them off for me which took all the extra stress out of the situation. Really great service and they saved my little mini sausage dog! (special thanks to Carmen for the help!)

Good service all the time. The only problem is they want money upfront and won't accept your insurance provider until after you've paid full price of treatments, this hasn't been an issue but I am nervous for the future, incase our fur babies need emergency treatment we can't afford upfront. I understand why it's done like that but it's making it harder to rescue/own pets. Maybe there are other options but that is not advertised openly. Aside from this I have no issues, everyone is friendly and communicate really well, I have no concerns in their abilities to care for my cats.
