Medivet - Wath

They gave an emergency app for my dog who had had his nose bitten by another dog. Very nice veterinary nurse, professional and very clear advice of what to do. Thank goodness not too much damage. A happy pooch.

A very welcoming Vets Practice. All staff are very helpful & friendly. Have been with this practice for a lot of years with my pet Cat and now my dog. My dog loves his Vet lady, she is an absolute star with him. Very pleased overall with my experiences with this Vets Practice. Will continue to go for many years to come. Thank you to all staff for offering friendly & professional standards when it comes to our loved ones. Much appreciated!

Had an emergency with my dog Pami and the receptionist were kind to offer all details I needed by phone ( am approximately piometry surgery costs etc) and they even booked to see us same day in another of few hours. Doctor Neil saw us and after seeing us for 2 days in a row then advised us to go to surgery. Him and receptionist made all the bookings etc so we can easily arrive for surgery. We did paid for each visit and surgery ( this was done by Animal Trust Barnsley). Doctor Neil has given us a fair assessment for our dog and now she is happy back home with us. Hope this review gets back to him as we truly appreciate his help and dedication in helping animals. Where our own practice failed us as couldn't even offer some initial information without waiting for hours the Medivet Arncliffe have stepped in and now are our hero along animal trust Barnsley 👏 🙌 Pami and her family thanks to all who helped her ❤️

This vets is amazing. The pet plan is really good value for money. The vets are really nice and knowledgeable. The reception staff are so lovely and have been really kind and helpful and accommodating. The driver in our household passed away recently and the reception staff have been really helpful in changing appointments. Today I took one of the cats in for a weight check and he was very anxious and had soiled himself while I was trying to get an uber home. The ladies on reception gave me cleaning supplies, a puppy pad and let me use a room to clean him AND booked me a taxi. I cannot reccomend this vet practice enough and im very thankful!

All the staff are lovely and welcoming. Booking appointments by phone or online is very easy. The vets are all very professional, friendly, they explain everything in easy terms and look after Charlie really well. Thank you. Jenny Adcock

Booked in for tick and flea injection. Then told it has to be a £40 liquid medicine. Just tell people over the phone. Staff were watching youtube videos, and finished, before they attended to us. Vet was thorough and spoke well, maybe should have staff training with reception staff.

0 stars! I had a very distressing experience with Medivet when I brought my dog max in to be put to sleep. This was an incredibly difficult moment, and I expected a basic level of compassion and care. Unfortunately, the process felt rushed and lacking in empathy. I didn’t feel supported or given the time needed to say goodbye properly. What upset me most was that the sedation did not seem to be handled appropriately, which caused my dog visible stress before he was finally laid to rest. That made an already heartbreaking situation even more traumatic. I understand this is a routine part of veterinary work, but for owners, it’s one of the hardest moments we face. I would have expected more sensitivity, clearer communication, and a gentler approach. I would not return based on this experience

Took my dog to Medivet yesterday the 19th November 2025 as she kept licking her lips & salivating which is something she's never done before. The vet seemed nice & she checked inside her mouth, felt at her tummy, weighed her & took her temperature, she advised me that all was fine & she couldn't see or feel anything. When we went to the reception to pay for the 10 minute consultation I nearly collapsed. It cost us £50 which I think is utterly disgusting!!! Obviously it's all about the money & not the caring side of being a vet, we are a nation of animal lovers so vets today take advantage of that!! At least Dick Turpin had the decency to wear a mask when he robbed people!!!!!😡
