Fantastic service this morning. We’re staying in the area for the weekend (5 hours from our own vet) and our Spaniel Goose had a problem with his eye. On the phone Sam was very friendly and helpful, on arrival I had a warm welcome from Sam & Kate. I saw Vet Karin who was very patient, explained everything and she was great with Goose (and me 😝) Lovely practice - thank you 🙏🏻

Visited Oakwood for our dog Teds vaccinations. The lady receptionist was so friendly and welcoming, (I unfortunately did not ask her name), and our vet Lauren was also so friendly, but professional, she treated Ted with a calm manner which made him, and us feel relaxed! Would highly recommend Oakwood Vets.

We have used this practice for nearly 40 years and it has never us down. Every team has been kind, compassionate and professional in every way. One of our dogs could have called this place its second home over the last year and this current team has been wonderful. Yes it’s expensive but vet medicine isn’t subsidised and vets train long and hard and are dedicated to animal welfare. I don’t begrudge a penny. I just wish there were schemes across vet care to help those that find the costs hard.

I took my enthusiastic Sprocket Spaniel to Oakwood Vets today for her vaccinations and whilst there, commented that her back leg seemed to be giving her some discomfort. Lauren, the member of staff that I dealt with was not only especially helpful but also adopted an incredibly caring attitude towards our said Mutt.....even though this sentiment was not willingly reciprocated by return! Animals can be incredibly intuitive and from the minute I opened the car door, she knew exactly where she was and demonstrated a significant reluctance to partake of whatever might be in store. Therefore, I knew from the outset that the vet would be dealing with an anxious animal and I was already on my guard myself due to this fact. Despite the visit only being for a vaccine injection and kennel cough vaccine up the nose, both treatments had the potential to upset the apple cart and when a temperature was required to ensure nothing was greatly amiss with the back leg, I thought we really might be struggling with the intrusion! To Lauren's credit, she remained entirely relaxed, with a calming attitude throughout, despite the fact that all the dog really wanted to do was jump off the counter and straight out of the nearest window.....and left us both under no illusion otherwise! On my drive home, I reflected upon how well our visit had been handled. I know that it was only a routine vaccination visit......but the Dog doesn't know that....irrespective of how many times I tried to tell her. I really felt that the attention that we received during our consultation was excellent and that the level of care and wellbeing demonstrated to our dog could not have been better. Clive D Stevens

Had to take my dog along with a broken dew claw . Saw Lauren who I haven’t met before but she was absolutely lovely. Sorted out Sybbie’s dew claw and as it was time for her annual vacation did that as well , saving me having to make an another trip back . She also took a vaginal swab , which was free. We’ve been with Oakwood for years and have always been impressed by their professional and caring approach.

I have visited Oakwood multiple times with my dog, and each and every time the staff are truly excellent. From the reception team, through the nurses and the vets, every single staff member has been professional, effective and in particular, very caring. I appreciate everything they do.

Outstanding veterinary practise. Every single member of staff I have come into contact with have been so kind, helpful and empathetic. Not once have I ever felt rushed during an appointment, in fact I feel as though they have gone above and beyond to make sure both my dog Jess and myself have been as comfortable as possible during a very worrying time. My sister recommended this practise to me, and she was absolutely right, they are fantastic. Also, I was quoted for an operation on my dog, (which I thought was very reasonable) and then after the operation I received the final bill and it actually came to less than the estimation by about £100 so that was a nice surprise!
