Penbode Vets - Camelford

My Tin Openers sometimes lure me (with treats) into a small container. I fall for it every time. Then I must bounce about in their Vehicle - most undignified. The visit to people apparently called Vets and Veterinary Nurses is quite pleasant in comparison. They do inspect me, which seems a bit rude, but it never hurts and they speak politely to and about me. Sometimes they stick a sharp thing into me but I'm so Cool and Hard that it doesn't hurt. When I was a kitten they did something mysterious to my insides and then dressed me up as a Tudor, with a strange ruff. Humiliating. However, a nurse called Jess Wheelwright praised me and said I didn't have a bad bone in my body - hahaha, little do they know, for I am Bane of All Rodents. I believe the Tin Openers approve of this veterinary practice and they always seem relieved when I've been checked - they say they only wish it were less expensive, but I'm afraid they're cheap like that. That is all. Bella.

Our dog got an ear infection while we were on holiday. We saw Penbode were local and had a good reputation for helping out people on holiday like ourselves. We called at 8:30AM and were seen by 11:30 the same day. Excellent receptionist phone experience, took our details, explained the process and helped us quickly and efficiently. Olivia saw to us quickly, was very professional, provided us all the options and her recommendation. Got our prescription immediately and the cost was very reasonable. Excellent vet in every way.

Had to make an emergency stop here on the last day of my holiday as my dog had become unwell. The 4 ladies I dealt with - on the phone, in reception, the nurse and the vet, were all exceptional; so friendly, helpful and helped put me at ease. The vet explained what the ‘gold standard’ would be for helping us, but offered a more suitable alternative (given we had a long drive home that day) and also offered phone support if we needed it later on. Thankfully we didn’t, and everything worked out well! I really appreciate all the help! :)

An accident in the garden meant that our dog needed to see a vet, whilst we were on holiday. Same day appointment given and very sympathetic receptionist. The Vet we saw was extremely thorough and reassuring. Would highly recommend.

They always go out of their way to make our anxious boy feel calmer

Having recently moved down to Delabole. My lovely cat became unwell over the last couple of days. I looked up the nearest vet to me and well how lovely and friendly everyone was from the lovely nurse who cleaned Florrie as she had a little accident in her basket, to Nick the vet who was so good and caring to Florrie and to the lovely receptionist. Thankyou all I feel more at home here now knowing that Florrie has a really caring and friendly vet practice who she will be visiting everytime she becomes poorly. Again Thankyou to everyone.

Reception staff great. Lovely gentle vet, Olivia. Looked after my nervous cat so well. Would give her 5 stars but the practice is a big business and very expensive

Annual visit for DD for her check up and injection. Helpful advice given by Josh on calming measures for panting dog in car. Will be trying out the first non - pharmaceutical suggestion soon!

We received an excellent service from Penbode Vets in Camelford. The staff and vets are very friendly and professional. The lovely receptionists were so helpful, ahead of our visit, with our frightened (ex-feral) boy. The nurse and vet kindly called us a few times to keep us up to date during his tests/treatment and also afterwards to see how our cat was doing. Everything was explained to us. Thank you so much.

Lovely friendly practice, seen promptly and my boy was thoroughly assessed. Not sure his happy he was about that, but I was. Thank you. Really reassuring to find a practice very like my old one.

I made an appointment for our dog Millie who had lost weight over the past two months. We were seen on time. Following a thorough examination of Millie and a chance for me to ask questions a plan of treatment was discussed and explained to me in detail. This was reassuring and Millie underwent the first part of the treatment. She seemed happy when she came back and quite settled. Feedback on the test results was arranged and overall our time at the vets went smoothly. The staff were very professional and made sure that Millie was comfortable throughout the visit.

We were very pleased to meet Olivia for the first time with our cat and dog. Our dog is very nervous when visiting the vets but Olivia took time and patience to make friends with Millie and won her over with kindness and dog treats. She was also very thorough detecting a heart murmur in Phoebe and following a blood test we now have an ongoing diagnosis. Her approach to us was very professional but friendly. We would definitely ask for her again. Thank you Olivia 🙂
