I genuinely cannot find any fault with South Moor Vets in Dartington. The veterinarian was exceptional, attentively listening to my concerns about my unwell pet and ensuring they provided the most sound advice possible. The veterinarian was remarkably kind and approachable, making the entire experience a very positive one.

I moved my animals to South Moor Vets as soon as they opened in Dartington and found them to be how I remembered the old independent Totnes vets from many years ago, which has been the standard by which I've judged all the local vets. There is no sense of time pressure in the appointments, they explain things clearly and are happy to answer any questions. All the staff are warm and welcoming and do all they can to help. I can't praise them highly enough.

During our second visit to SM Vets, we were so very grateful, once again, for their warmth, understanding and care. A huge thank you to Alastair and Harriet for patiently, and so very gently, handing our nervous rescue hound Bear who made having a routine blood test, and nail trim, rather a drama! It is so very reassuring to know that Bear is in the very best of care. Thank you again, Emma, Flora and Bear

I can’t thank South Moor Vets (a brilliant independent vet) enough for the exceptional care they give to our pets. This was evident last year (in particular) when our cat Holly was very unwell, and the team quite literally saved her life. From the moment we walked through the door, we were treated with kindness, calm professionalism and genuine compassion. Every member of staff took the time to explain what was happening and reassure me at what was a very worrying time. Holly received outstanding treatment and follow-up care, and she is now back to her happy self — something I will always be grateful for. If you are looking for a veterinary practice that combines expertise with heartfelt care, I would wholeheartedly recommend South Moor Vets in the Totnes area.

Started visiting South Moor earlier this year as they were one of the few practices in the area that would see my hens. I have since decided to use South Moor for all my pets despite it being a 30 min drive from home! The staff are incredibly friendly, helpful and genuinely care about your pets. All their suggestions are at the best interest of your animal and not simply for their profit. Received a lovely sympathy card from them after having a hen PTS. Furthermore their prices are always more than reasonable and I am pleasantly surprised when it comes to paying up. Also love the cat specific waiting area, complete with feliway sprayed blankets to shield carriers and keep them calm. Thanks South Moor!

The friendliness of the staff here is exceptional, I always feel welcome. Scampi and I saw Alex today, who was very professional, kind and caring. As are all the vets we have seen. My boxer, Scrumpy, just loves ‘going to the vets”. He can’t wait to get through the door. Says it all, really. Thank-you.

The vets were incredibly kind, calm and professional when our dog fell seriously ill while we were camping locally, hours away from home. They kept us updated while she stayed with them overnight, at the weekend, and it was clear she was in safe hands! They saved her life and we could not be more grateful to the team!

I love that you are so friendly and nice but i explained i am very poor , disabled on benefits and my cat needed antibiotics and still i paid £87 to get a check and antiinflamitaries. For a 15 minute feel of my cat you couldve saved me money by just giving me antibiotics . Shes 18 has never had them and they wouldnt harm her. I just dont understand why you couldnt have just saved me another visit of another £90 . Thats 2 weeks of me not eating and not heating. Luckily shes ok now . So that saves me £90. Having pets is now only for wealthy people. My daughter landed me with our cat 18 years ago when i said no more pets but i fell in love with her and she is my best friend now. Im trying my best to keep her. I wonder how many other pets are being put to sleep too soon due to the cost of living crisis. If my cat gets ill again i will have to pay £190 to put her down. How does a disabled person manage these costs. Needless to say when she passes away my beloved friend will never be replaced as i cant afford any other pet and my mental health will plummet as worse loneliness ensues. Why cant you listen to pet owners?
