We’ve been with Vet4Life for years, simply because we’ve hardly got any better options. But the poor communication and lack of information, as well as the unfriendly and curt manner of the reception staff—who seem almost disinterested in their work—are becoming almost unbearable. It’s as if customers are a nuisance to them. It’s a bit of a gamble. Sometimes they are friendly and answer questions in detail and promptly. There is also poor waiting room management, e.g.: Dog owners who walk their dog on a retractable lead through the entire waiting room, creating tripping hazards for others due to the lead, stressing cats and dogs, etc., whilst the owner is on their mobile and the staff member is standing just a metre away, clearly noticing how stressed the other patients are as a result, but saying nothing and letting everyone in the room down. Emails requesting specific lab results or other attachments that are important for further procedures go unanswered for weeks or are only replied to after repeated requests. After repeated requests, a reply may eventually arrive, without an apology and not even with a polite salutation or greeting. If this had only happened once, twice or three times, I might not have written anything. But I’ve lost count by now. We’re always friendly, even in every reminder email. There’s no passive aggression on our part, as we and our pets are at their mercy there and we’re dependent on them. However, this feedback is long overdue. The vets have been helpful so far, and we’ve had mostly good experiences with the nurses in the treatment rooms. Our wish is for the staff responsible for the waiting room and communication to be more transparent, friendlier, more attentive and more reliable.

Awful vets not only have they been the reason my pug had to undergo surgery as one of their staff pressed down his wound very harshly and didn’t prescribe any antibiotics and I ended up paying £6,500 for surgery elsewhere… Today is the final straw for this sorry excuse of a vet practise. I’ve been coming here for 3 years and my dog has had a throwing up and diarrhoea and drooling issue and I’ve asked for him to be checked only to be told I can’t get seen till Tuesday… So not a single branch is free for an “emergency” appointment for my dog until Tuesday and I’ve called on Sunday morning 10am. In my opinion this is outrageous and ridiculous. I have never felt my dogs in good hands here and would definitely not recommend this vet practise I was told to “go to the emergency, vets now” which is £1,000 on the door when you go inside. This is a complete joke of a vet DO NOT COME HERE!!!

Took my elderly dog to see them as she had a terrible rash on her body. Explained had a family of foxes in back garden. Prescribed her a med that almost killed her she lost so much weight from the reaction. Had to get another vet round and within minutes said it was mange and she started to recover. Won't ever trust this company again, it's owned by an Equity company. All about money! Similar experience by a lady I met in the park. I wrote a complaint letter no response but managed to send me a letter chasing for money. Go figure, these vets are straight out of Uni with hardly any experience. They won't accept feedback or own their mistakes or mis-diagnosis. After posting their review they have sent me a second letter within 6 days chasing for money and still not responded to my letter. Speaks volumes.

I found Gerda to be great with my nervous dog demonstrating care and kindness . She listened to concerns and offered options which ensured both the dog and owner were catered for . I would highly recommend Gerda

My cat is in pain and is distressed . They couldn’t be bothered to stay open for a couple more minutes to wait until I arrived. I pleaded with them but the receptionist wouldn’t listen and tried to send me all the way to Sutton or Guildford and was completely dismissive. I’d give them zero stars if i could.

We have been coming here for almost a year now. The reception staff are really lovely, Natasha always asks how are guineas are doing :) The vets thoroughly examine our pets, they don’t rush the appointment, always take time to explain and answer any questions. Gerda did a castration on our guinea Fuzzie, everything went perfectly and he was back to his charming self in no time. Thank you to you all for care and kindness
