I am extremely disappointed with my recent experience at White Cross Vets (Wolstanton). I asked for some spare medicine for my dog(I case of emergency) and I was provided with dog medication that I never requested. This was a clear administrative error on their part. Mistakes happen, but the way they handled it afterwards was completely unacceptable. When I realized the error and tried to return the medication—which was unused and exactly as they handed it to me—I was met with a flat "No." I was told that because of "rules" or "policy," they cannot take back medication once it has left the building. It's so unfair for a customer that has been in the past 8 years just with this clinic. Sorry for the bad review, you are usually doing a great job there, but not this time(when we live hard times).

The vet, Katie, was extremely professional, friendly, and patient, taking the time to clearly explain everything to me. The receptionist, Vicky, was also very helpful and managed to book us in as soon as possible for assistance. Overall, the team was amazing and provided excellent care and service throughout our visit.

★☆☆☆☆ — White Cross Vets, Wolstanton I am booked in tomorrow to say goodbye to my dog of many years. I am autistic, I am in the middle of relocating, and I am financially stretched. When I called to arrange everything, I was quoted £345 for a beach casket and £125–£126 for communal cremation. I called back to confirm. They confirmed the price. My sister called to arrange payment. She was told there was an additional charge — euthanasia costs that had been “forgotten” from the original quote. Nobody called me. Nobody told me. The only explanation given was that my sister was informed — not me, the owner, the person who made the booking. When my mother-in-law called this morning to pay, she was told there was £200 outstanding — the first I had heard of any change. When I raised this, the manager Jodie acknowledged fault but refused to honour the original quoted price. Three members of staff had handled this booking. All three failed to include the full cost. What happened next is something I will never forget. I was told that if I could not pay the outstanding balance, they would hold my dog’s ashes until the full amount was paid. My dog is not collateral. She is my family. Jodie was condescending, showed no compassion, and offered no solution beyond “pay or we keep her.” This is the experience they are offering people on one of the worst days of their lives. Incorrect quotes, poor communication, and then using your grief as leverage. I will be contacting head office. I will be posting this to every White Cross Vets location. I will be filing a complaint with the RCVS (Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons) regarding the conduct and the financial handling of this booking. If you are considering this practice for end-of-life care — please look elsewhere. You deserve better. Your animal deserves better.

Can not recommend Katie at white cross highly enough. Her care and dedication is faultless. She stayed over after the practice had closed to get us a referral to the cat clinic for specialist tests. I felt so grateful that Katie and the team were looking after my cat.

I recently changed to White Cross vets because I became very disappointed with my regular vet of 5 years. I have been coming here for about a month now and have been pleasantly surprised!. - We always get a lovely welcome when we walk through the door and my Corgi girl loves the staff. The receptionists Dani & Danielle are wonderful and the vet Laura has offered us reassuring advice and has kept a regular eye on our dog which is great! - also we have joined the wellness plan so we never have to pay for a consult again. We are very happy!.
