Tried to obtain Bravecto flea treatment for my 2 dogs but because they are fit and healthy and haven't required an appointment in the last 12 months, I've been informed that i have to pay £51 per dog for them to be assessed before I can purchase any flea treatment. Not that i spend a lot with them as my dogs are fit and healthy but i would rather take them elsewhere for the sheer cheek of £102 for them to be weighed. Apparently, it's 'legislation' yet i could walk into any pet store and buy flea treatment over the counter.

Very kind and helpful. Little hammy was in a bad way and they took care of her quickly, and without needing to book. A kind and compassionate vet, made a miserable business a little more bearable.

Very misleading staff! When I arrived today with my gerbil to the clinic, with the emergency case, I was advised to pay extra fee for being seen by the vet (the cost of the emergency consultation was £81). I described the symptoms of my gerbil to the receptionist in details - it kept falling on her side and then fall from the height. After several minutes the vet called us to come in, but only 2 manipulations were made - my gerbil was weighed and checked by stethoscope (probably was, because the standard stethoscope was too big for gerbil). ONLY IN THE END of the consultation I was told that the vet was not a SPECIALIST for gerbils, and was advised to give an antibiotic to my gerbil, the only one thing she could suggest as she didn't know the reason of my gerbil being unwell. Antibiotic was prescribed RANDOMLY, in a case of possible inflammation, that was not even diagnosed! Otherwise I was advised to see a specialist elsewhere. But I had to pay for the urgent consultation anyway! For what? For nothing, just for a guess. After checking the symptoms on ChatGPT, I assumed that my gerbil had had a stroke, and then falling that could cause any damage to her bones. But none of the appropriate checks were done, not even any X-Ray, however, initially, on the reception I was told that everything needed would be checked, for my gerbil! I asked for a painkiller for my gerbil, and was prescribed for a medicine that appeared to be designed for CATS, it has never had any tests on small pets, like gerbils! So, it can be harmful for my pet, and I just paid £96 for unprofessional time and inappropriate medicine!!! Why the lady on the reception had not told me that there WAS NO SPECIALIST FOR GERBILS in their clinic before my appointment with the vet? Will contact the manager of the clinic.

I have been a client of Vets4Pets Swansea for over 5 years, and I am very disappointed with the way I was treated during my recent attempt to book an appointment for my cat’s abscess. On 23.07.2025 (Wednesday), I was initially told there were available appointments on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. When I asked for any available same-day appointment, the receptionist said I could have one but would have to pay an emergency fee on top. However, after I declined to pay for an emergency consultation, I was suddenly told that the earliest appointment was a week later. When I called again two hours later to clarify whether I had understood correctly that there were no available appointments until next Wednesday and asked questions, a same-day appointment “suddenly” became available. This felt manipulative and unprofessional, especially considering my pet’s health concerns. Additionally, I was informed that if I took my cat to another practice, even in an emergency, I would lose the benefits of their Vac4Life vaccination plan. This felt like extra pressure that I found unfair and unprofessional. I hope the clinic will pay more attention to their clients and improve their service to prevent situations like this from happening again.

Very good with my dog and they have always been caring when we went, she was recently spayed in which went very well, she has a neat small scar and they were happy with her recovery and check up appointments. Receptionists are very friendly and helpful. Only issue is they send the reminder texts for the dog flea treatment on a Sunday and the phone lines are closed so would be good for a voice mail or email to reorder them.
