We sadly had to put my hamster, Bean, to sleep last week and they were absolutely brilliant. Gave us all the time and space we needed to say goodbye, they had a candle lit in reception to let other people know to keep the noise down as someone was saying goodbye to their pet, everyone was so kind and sympathetic and listened to all the stories of Bean’s wonderful life, and I’ve just received a card in the post from them saying sorry for your loss and some wildflower seeds to plant in his memory. So incredibly thoughtful, thank you so much Eastbourne Vets, you made a horrible experience a little be easier xx

Money-grabbing scam. Vets who don't tell you about costs before running tests, sell you medication your pet doesn't need, receptionists who talk to you like dirt if you question the bill. Oh, and an operation that left my pet with a damaged throat. They are a chain owned by an investment company that wants to bleed as much out of pet owners as possible. Avoid if you love your pet.

Not a good experience! I have been with these vets for a year now and everytime there has been a problem! I pay for two cats on a plan and everytime I go to order their flea/worm treatment they order late or don't get it in time I once had to wait 3 weeks for it and by that time their next flea treatment was due, I have been chased back and forth between seaside and acacia villas, and the worst one is I have spoken to 1 vet and 3 times with the receptionist that I pay for my mums dog but don't own him so I would like a reminder for my cats and for my mum to get a reminder about the dog (how hard is that) everytime they say yes it has been sorted or that is fine but so far this still has not happened and have now been told that my mum gets the reminders even for MY cats. I don't know why this is so difficult for them or they could at least tell me that they are unable to do this! not tell me that it is done and sorted. Liars and time wasters. Am giving them one more chance to correct this or to at least tell me they can't, or they have lost 3 animals and I'm finding another vets. I in no way wanted to write this review but hopefully they actually listen to me this time.

I don't want to go into details of what happened at this vets as it really is a long story. What I will say is that I found the vet to be abrupt, lacking sympathy, more interested in money. The notice at reception is disgusting. It basically says 'PAYMENT MUST BE MADE AT THE TIME OF TREATMENT REGARDLESS OF THE CIRCUMSTANCES'. When you have had to say goodbye to your beloved pet, you are in no state to be dealing with this. Surely an invoice can be sent? The receptionists were lovely & I feel sorry for them having to ask the bereaved for payments when they are so distressed, as my daughter & I were.
