First Vets looked after our 18 year old cat Bonny for the last 6 years and she had regular visits to manage her medical problems ( hyperthyroidism, arthritis and surgery to remove a tumour 2022) so she had a really good quality of life. Unfortunately she became very unwell just before Christmas and we had to take her for the final time. The vet was extremely kind and made sure she didn't suffer. I would like to thank all the staff at the practice for all their care shown over the years. Bonny had a long and happy life.

the best vets in my experience for small animals. i have used first vets on several occasions now for my guinea pigs, the most recent being for an emergency. we were able to get an emergency appointment within half an hour of phoning. the vets are not only knowledgeable but so kind as well. i have experienced different vets surgeries in the past who are afraid of small animals or have refused to touch them but nothing compares to the care both my guinea pig and i received at first vets. the vet we saw talked us through our options and didn’t make us feel rushed to make a decision. unfortunately, my guinea pig was put down but they handled her with dignity and respect, wrapping her in a clean blanket for me to take her home in. i must also praise the reception staff as well, who were so genuinely kind and compassionate. we were so very well looked after on a truly awful evening, i really am grateful to have such a knowledgeable and caring vet practice in my area.

FirstVets are awesome. They saved our Penny’s life when she was hit at six months old with Addisons Disease, and helped us heal our Luna - despite initially thinking she might need to be put down. They regularly care for our girls; Penny can’t wait to get inside the vets to say hello to all the nurses. She cries until everyone has said hello to her, and the nurses even have their own pet name for her. Luna is a little less excited 😅😂 but she receives excellent care and has learned that not all vets are scary and that she gets cared for and loved too.

My little girl was treated absolutely fantastic when she had a lump removed, a few years back, but 5 months ago she was diagnosed with diabetes, they had her in for a day doing bloods, then we had to inject with insulin which was very hard as she was a nightmarefor us,,she had 5 sensors put in her body, which 2 never worked, she was so irritated by these it was hard to watch her, I questioned why they was put on so close together aswell,I also had a incident with the insurance where it went to me by mistake,I felt after this the care was absolutely shocking, the vet spoke to us like we had committed a crime, I never had updates from the vets after this, the 2 sensors that never worked was just waste time, blaming my dog basically but these are not for dogs they are for humans, and to put them so close together aswell, the fact they cost over £200 too be fitted aswell is appaling We had a free day for her to get bloods done after this, but it's my dog that suffered I feel that some reception staff was abrupt, and rude yes I was angry with all this plus other stuff going on,but my dog suffered and I cannot stress how much it broke me watching her the last couple of nights,it was just heartbreaking 💔 😢 for us,we had to have her put to sleep which broke my heart,to watch your dog deteriate in such a short time was something I'll never want too see again 💔 I've heard dif things about this practice but you have to witness it yourself to realise things. My dog is now at peace, but I'm still traumatised by all this. They could not do enough at the start of her diabetes but then after that mistake with insurance it proved to me all they are bothered about is money, not the care of animals Sad reality is we love our pets and want nothing but the best, but complain and they really change there attitude,we know our pets better than them....
