Our 4yr old staffy had his first appointment yesterday and the vet was excellent went trough his history and recommended six monthly blood tests due to his medication to check for any affects the medication may have on his vital organs which had never been offered at the previous vets. We will also get reminders every 3 months to collect worming and flea medication. Are also giving us a repeat prescription to order his medication online. Would definitely recommend to anyone who loves their pet don’t believe they will be cared for better anywhere else.

I recently took my dog Snow to have a lump on her back examined. The vet suggested it be removed. She first quoted me £600, then soon after said maybe around £800? I was then soon after that quoted £1000. When they called to book Snow in they then quoted me £1200. I attempted to get clarification on the price as it rose substantially from the initial price i was given. I was told i would get a call back from the vet to explain and get a break down. This never happened. I tried twice more and the same happened. I had to cancel the operation. Nobody at the time asked why? They did since call back to ask why. I explained and they told me they would get the vet to call so we could look at the issue. I laughed, and low and behold I got no call from the vet. My dog is now in need of an operation still and I need to find a new practice to look at her and start again Such poor service

Unfortunately my dog required emergency out-of-hours treatment recently. My usual emergency vet had reached capacity and had to divert us to another practice over an hour away. As my dog needed time-sensitive treatment, I contacted Pool Vets as they were only 15 minutes away. Although I understand I wasn’t a registered client, I was shocked to be quoted £500 just for a consultation — and that was before any treatment had even started. When you are desperately trying to save your dog’s life, being faced with that kind of price tag feels completely unreasonable and frankly extortionate. My dog is insured, but the cost being asked for emergency care was still appalling. Thankfully, I managed to find another vet willing to help, and the total bill for the emergency consultation and the treatment that saved his life came to £211. I appreciate emergency care comes at a premium, but there has to be some level of compassion and fairness when owners are in distress and animals need urgent help.

Isabelle, the vet, was very thorough and caring. She gave our dog a good look over and checked his heart, etc. This put our minds at rest, especially as he is an elderly dog. We would definitely recommend. They are prepared to spend time with you and your pet and don't rush.

Super friendly staff and nice waiting area split for cats and dogs. Really thoughtful they have feliway spray and blankets to cover carriers with just to help keep pets calm. There's decent parking too. The drive can be a bit tricky as the lane can be narrow and take care if you have to cross the train crossing as its on a hill, the turning is just after that so go slowly :). The line is decommissioned though so there won't be any trains!
