Can not recommend enough. my boy had to have inner and outer stitches due to an accident, they was very helpful reassuring my horse to calm him down they've since been out to check on his stitches to see how hes doing (hes doing brilliant) Sophie the vet is absolutely lovely and so kind around my ponies and not too expensive for all they do

Good equine practice and not too expensive if you make use of the zone visits and yard visits. They hold talks on different aspects of horse care and have a shop containing grooming items, supplements etc. Staff are always friendly and knowledgeable.

My horse has had superb care with included a week admitted to the hospital. The vet involved in my horses care spoke to me every day and i was more than welcome to visit when i could. The bill was rather less than i had anticipated too!!!

Well i have to say i wrote my first review on my original account after having an amazing experience. Since then my opinion on the equine side of the vets has significantly changed. First up the vets are all super, really friendly and genuinely share some amazing advice, and this isn’t targeted personally towards them at all.Especially Charlotte as she helped massively with finding the best vets for my pony. One certain receptionist is extremely rude, and was adamant in every phone call that she was right, even telling me that i couldn’t get my horses teeth done as i didn’t want her vaccinations. I’m a massive advocate for my horse not need vaccinating, and it’s been that way since 2023 ( we’ve had her teeth done every year no issues without vaccinations).I explained i know the risks of not vaccinating, but she doesn’t leave the yard and when she does it’s hacking that isn’t around other horses. She has also been quite disrespectful in the sense of booking appointments etc. One young receptionist is the complete opposite and was lovely!! We was constantly nagged at the same day, sometimes the day after to send full payment over. This wasn’t an issue at first, but once you’ve had some horrible news about your pony the last thing on your mind is going to be how quickly you send a payment. They showed no respect for this and was more interested in the fact we didn’t pay straight away. We have always paid within a week, and have used their services multiple times in over a year. We haven’t ever left them long without a payment, and we are regular uses of the services so to be disrespected over the phone was quite upsetting. Then it moves onto the vet visits side of things, over the space of 3/4 months we had spent over £2000 in itself on vet visits. Majority of this cost was the call out fee and examination fee which costs £150 in itself. Again, money isn’t an issue- but when we are paying a lot of money (especially that amount) We atleast expect to know some sort of what issue is going on with my pony, and they didn’t find out at all. It was just the same tests every time they came. As you can imagine being told every time they don’t know, but still wanting to come out is quite agitating. Eventually, two lovely vets came out for the final time did an examination and referred us to Pool House Equine Services. Once we had an appointment there, Pool House Vets said it was very clear and obvious what the issue is. Hearing this again made us very agitated as the symptoms were quite clearly there for what she was diagnosed with at Pool House. I wouldn’t say don’t use scarsdale at all, but if your looking for a definite answer as quickly as possible without having to spend ridiculous amounts on the same tests everytime, and your looking for a receptionist that won’t disrespect your options and beliefs, go elsewhere.

I've been with this vet for 35+ years and have always found them to be helpful, professional and good value for money. Sadly the latter is now not the case since they stopped the zone visits for routine appointments. This equates to an additional amount of up to 50% on the cost of a vaccination visit. Having broached this with the practice they say that customers prefer to have the choice of what day the visit takes place which is why they scrapped the zone visits. I find this very hard to believe that the vast majority of their clients are willing to pay up to 50% more just so that they can choose the day of the visit. The practice has recently been taken over by a large corporate firm and looks like new procedures are being put in place to the detriment of clients, a lot of whom have been with them for years.
