Absolutely outstanding practice. Took a little rodent in for a check up after a cat attack, very professional, caring and gentle. Treated the little guy as if he was any other pet. Friendly receptionist too, all round very welcoming place.

We have been bringing all our animals to Strachan vets for 30+ years due to the care, diligence and support we have received by the vets and all staff. They go above and beyond other vets with their passion for your treasured pets and are brilliant at explaining exactly what is happening and making plans that support their recovery. In cases where our beloved pet’s time has come for us to say goodbye, they have handled this trauma for us and the procedure for our lives one with sensitivity and understanding. We completely recommend this highly skilled vets. (Also - remember the vet fees supports all staff, overheads, replacing equipment and medication to ensure the best possible care.)

Don’t often write reviews but the attitude on one of the receptionists (middle aged woman) absolutely stinks. Didn’t catch her name but you’ll definitely know who upon seeing her - passive aggressive, snarky and bitter when dealing with clients that are younger than her. Consider finding someone more welcoming as she’s the first person people speak to (unfortunately). Shame as the vets are lovely.

We have been using this vet practice since 1998 with a swarm of basset hounds. I think they have seen all nine of them over the years. Eustace has been sampling their wares most recently as not only did he need treatment for a prolapsed disc but has recently had 6 large cysts removed, thankfully all benign and treated for some sort of a bite (? snake) which has healed well. At all times he has been treated superbly and with kindness - quite rightly as he is clearly the best basset ever! (He assures me this is true) I am pleased that the practice remains independent and have nothing but praise for all the staff; the vets are personable and efficient, the nurses kind and informative and the receptionists pleasant and friendly. Sebastian kindly came to our house when our two 14 year old bassets, Benjy and Strog, had come to the end of their lives which made their passing a lot easier. Highly recommended - the practice seems to attract great vets - I still remember Mr Hamilton who was superb and those following have kept up the tradition.

Strachans Veterinary Surgery holds a forever place in my heart. From the very start, the vets, nurses, and staff went above and beyond for my beautiful Bella, caring for her with such love and dedication throughout her life. She faced many health challenges, but because of them, she was able to live a happy, wonderful life, surrounded by love. She was my world, my heart, my everything. Losing her was the hardest thing I’ve ever been through—my heart broke in a way I never thought possible. In my darkest moments, my husband surprised me with Bella’s little brother, Bruno. Life without her will never be the same, but Bruno has been my light, my reason to keep going. He saved my broken heart and kept it beating when I didn’t know how to move forward. Now, Bruno is a patient at Strachans too, and once again, I am overwhelmed with gratitude for the love and care he receives. The way they manage his health, the way they reassure me when I panic, the way they truly care—it means everything. I wouldn’t trust anyone else with my babies. Strachans isn’t just a vet practice to me; they are family. A very special thank you to Arlene, Seb, and Raz—you have no idea how much your kindness, care, and support mean to me. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for everything. Love Susie Sanjuan & Family 🫶🏽

Everyone at the surgery is very welcoming and helpful-vets, receptionists and nurses. We have had regular appointments because our elderly dog has complex health issues. There is continuity in the treatment plan and our vets are willing to answer questions and provide a more holistic approach which helps with the difficulties we are having to manage. We have found that we have needed to visit them more frequently than we would have liked, but the team manage to make the experience as pleasant as possible for us. Thank you
