Maxi is an old dog so visits the vet more than some. We are very happy with Mewes Vets. They are always kind and helpful, so am very happy to trust his health to them. I also like that we can always make sure he sees the same vet ( Julia )

I cannot recommend The Mewes Vet highly enough. It’s a calm, compassionate environment which was very reassuring as our cat Lilah was highly stressed by the time we arrived for our appointment. Instead of just setting to with the examination and vaccination, Julia allowed Lilah time to calm down by having a good sniff around the room. Finally, trimming Lilah’s claws wasn’t easy but Nurse Billie had the knack of holding her steady while Julia finished the claw cutting. Everyone at the practice is very helpful and kind.

Recently registered my cat at The Mewes and she had her first checkup and an annual vaccine yesterday. She has never been so calm at a practice and the care provided was absolutely superb, I’m very happy to know that she will be in good hands in future! Very personal and friendly experience :)

We saw Dr. Marc today and he was brilliant. He was so kind and understanding, and really took the time to check over our cat Hermione and explain everything clearly. It was obvious he genuinely cared and wanted the best for her. I would highly recommend The Mewes after this visit and will be using them as my regular vets now, even though it's a little bit out the way from where I am.

My Woody loves going to see Marc and Julia and always gets so much love an attention . Although a little bit out of the way for me, it’s worth the distance. Fabulous care all round .and to top it off we always have a cheeky little walk on the beach at Rottingdean

Mewes robbed us of a peaceful, respectful ending to our beloved dog Iggys life when we paid for their vet Julia to come to our home to put him to sleep. After being unable to find Iggy’s vein and blaming his “tough staffie skin” (he was already heavily sedated from medication we had bought from the vets that was obviously the wrong dose as he couldn’t even stand unassisted his last day) she began an hour of heartbreaking incompetence and insensitivity that was and still is devastating to the many that love us and loved Iggy. He never should have suffered that way, I’ve witnessed many pets end of life with vets and this was an utter nightmare of medical incompetence and personal insensitivity compounded by the Mewes response to our complaint which took no responsibility in any meaningful way at all. Please think twice before using this vet especially for end of life with your pet. Mewes as they stated below “spoke to us” after we contacted them numerous times, and it only caused more pain, their rude attitude and continued insensitivity, literally taking no responsibility for ruining Iggy’s last day before his being put to sleep and that process itself, so 48 hours of utter incompetence in their treatment of our boy, overdosing him the day before so he couldn't even walk. That day should have been beautiful for him and us. They obviously only care about business. Please be aware of this practice. We gave them ever opportunity to take responsibility or even explain their mistakes and they avoided it.
