This is our second visit as our kitten bug had her second vaccine. The vet today was absolutely fantastic so informative and was incredible when handling our kitten who was very much doted on too by the vet. Safe to say our kitten made a friend today😂! Brilliant service glad we chose Vets For Pets Barnstaple!

Went to the vet in an emergency and they saw me in less than 10 minutes, wonderful service. Staff in the store were friendly and felt like they cared about me and my dog

Everyone at the practice is wonderful and very caring. We had an emergency with our sausage dog, the reception team were great and the vet DR Sydney was the best. She has a very calming voice and knows her stuff. After a thorough check up no x rays were needed. And my boy is doing great. I felt the treatment and charges were right, nothing done unnecessarily. Great team as always 👏

Absolutely wonderful veterinary practice with a truly caring and friendly team! They’re always patient, helpful, and so reassuring, taking the time to explain everything and put me at ease. I was recommended this practice by a friend, and I can see why! I feel completely confident leaving her in their care. Whether it’s a routine visit or something unexpected, she’s treated with the same love and attention they’d give their own animals.

I could not thank vets4pets enough! I have a reactive dog and always dread going to the vets for anything! Today the male vet sat and explained everything to us and made us feel at ease. Then Amy the vet which we have dealt with before spoke to me on the phone when my dog was ready to be collected and made me feel even more at ease. She spoke to me so nicely and made me feel instantly relieved. She said how lovely my dog was which was an instant relief. They’re so good with my dog even though she can be difficult at times. I can’t thank them enough for how they treat me and my dog.

The rude, older receptionist isn't aware that communication relies on listening as well as talking. The unhappy tale which saddened my dear cat: Last week I booked in to V4P to receive a second opinion on a diagnosis for my cat. I confirmed with the excellent young receptionist that I don't wish to change vets, it was highlighted that sharing my little buddy's medical history would notify my main vet, wishing to not offend my vet I chose to not share history. This receptionist was very clear, polite and helpful during an unhappy moment for me. A mere 19hrs before the appointment a gruff, rude, older receptionist called demanding the history. I was repeatedly cut off when attempting to explain why I didn't want to share history and that this is a single visit. When I stated I wanted to cancel, the receptionist got herself stuck in a recursion of requesting the history, breaking the loop only to ask unnecessary questions before returning to her fixation on history. After several failed attempts to fold my own words into the conversation I hung up. It was too much like trying to talk to a bot with an ego - I've never before heard the words "We're sorry. We have to cancel" said with such palpable glee, uttered only when the receptionist's programming caught up on the fact I'd already asked to cancel much earlier on. In all seriousness, I booked a day off work to help my little cat buddy out. Only to be stonewalled in a rude and condescending manner less than 24 hours before the appointment. This isnt a gutted, austere free service like the NHS, this is a vet worth approximately 40% of Pets at Home's £1.5Billion that has poorly communicated policy or poorly maintained software. It's cost my cat, and its cost me. V4P Barnstaple either need to change their system so bookings can't be made if history isn't willing to be shared. Or V4P need to book some staff training in Active Listening, and maybe a few lessons of Phone Calls - How to Keep the Ego in Check.
