We came in for our female Maltipoo KITO's laparoscopic spay surgery. The clinic is 1.5 hours from my home, but after seeing the high reviews, I decided to make the trip-and I'm so glad I did! Everyone on the Calne branch team was incredibly friendly, kind, and took the time to explain everything thoroughly. After the surgery, they mentioned KITO could follow up with a local vet for post-op check-ups, but the Calne branch team was so warm and welcoming that we kept coming back. We are looking forward to scheduling KITO's next annual check-up here as well🙏

My older dog with a heart murmer needed dental work with a lot of teeth removed, ECG, blood work etc. They quoted a very competitive price and are very local. I like they are independent. Alf is a big woose at the vet and yes he was scared but when I collected him later in the day he was absolutely fine, not in his usual hurry to leave at all. The staff were all great, friendly, professional and made a fuss of him. His follow up appointment was fine. He has to go back for more work, but I'm happy he will be in good hands

After our previous vets were taken over by a soleless and entirely profit focussed conglomerate, animal care dropped through the floor in direct relation to the eye watering amount that bills increased (with even attempted coercion to buy drugs exclusively from them at horrific levels of markup), we moved to Chalklands based on their committed independence from such ownership along with stellar reputation for good old fashioned proper animal care. I was very nervous making the transition, as our eight year old Labrador had previously been well looked after at our previous vet and I was still struggling to comprehend how so much could have changed for the worse and so quickly. However, every single interaction with Chalklands has been simply exemplary. From initial email exchange with one of the owners, to lengthy onboarding telephone conversation with the practice manager, to the immense care our beloved boy has been shown by absolutely everyone, from reception, vets, nurses and physio. Every visit is a pleasure for both dog and owner, with attention entirely focussed on what is best for the pet, delivered with care, compassion and warmth. With primary nominated vet flitting around between appointment when attending physio appointments, they even pay an interest in and monitor how things are progressing outside of formal veterinary appointments with them. In the weekly physio our boy has needed since an elbow replacement, the care and attention to detail could simply not have been better and the degree of improvement extraordinarily good. His surgeon warned that he would almost certainly always retain a degree of a limp but so expert has been his physio, that after five months his limp is almost entirely resolved. Thank you Selina, Phillipa and team, you have restored our faith in the veterinary profession and stand as a beacon in your profession as to how veterinary care should be provided.

Fantastic vet centre. Every member of staff is attentive, caring and completely pet-centred. They work wonderfully with our dog and she is so happy in their company, despite some of the care she’s needed will have been painful and stressful. Would not hesitate to recommend them. They are so welcoming, caring and knowledgable and I trust them completely!

Chalklands have been amazing with my German Shepherd. They have picked up on things that the previous vets didn't or misdiagnosed. They've been beyond helpful and very patient, kind and loving with my dog. I would recommend chalklands to anyone.

Our dog (and we as her new owners) were so carefully looked after that we could not be more appreciative or happy with the quality of care, time and effort we received. Huge appreciation to Ida and Jose and those in reception for giving us confidence going forward with our large new family member.
