Thank you so much to everyone at Eastgate vets in Mildenhall, you have all been so kind and helpful during a really heartbreaking time putting my cat kitty to sleep, I could not have been more grateful for all the support you gave us. Sasha was absolutely amazing, as well as all the ladies at the reception. Thank you again I couldn’t recommend this place enough

It’s ok if you only bring your pets here to get vaccinated. We brought our dog Magnus today for teeth cleaning under anaesthesia and ear plucking / treatment and received a shocking service. First of all, he was put under without making sure the equipment is functioning properly, his teeth therefore were not cleaned. We were told today his teeth “aren’t that bad” even though the vet during his vaccinations / check up earlier told us he needs it done very soon as he already has dental disease + some of his gums bleed even when lightly brushing. His ears were not cleaned for the treatment, which is completely unacceptable as it is absolutely useless to administer a treatment when the problem is just going to come back immediately due to bacteria/fungi left. Secondly, we were called to pick him up early as “he is very anxious”, then got another call to say they MIXED UP DOGS and he’s not actually fully awake yet. Moreover, when my husband got there to pick Magnus up, he paid but was not booked in as “arrived” so was waiting for a while until another employee realized what has happened. Lastly, he was told that you are getting a new teeth cleaning equipment tomorrow and an offer to book Magnus in again. Anaesthesia is not a minor procedure to put a dog under needlessly. That is honestly outrageous and you should cancel / postpone appointments if your equipment is not functioning. We are basically down a lot of money and gained absolutely nothing apart from putting our dog in danger. Needless to say, we will not be returning.

Yet again Eastgate were very welcoming and polite. The young girl on reception out of her wages bought our dog Darci a chew. She then was so busy eating that, didn’t flinch when she had her yearly jab. Thank you!!

I am afraid that I will not recommend Eastgate vets to anyone. Not because the vets are anything but pleasant or suitably qualified, but in recent years I have lost all faith in an industry where our beloved pets are supposed to be at the heart of it but now has become an asset or commodity. I have been going to Eastgate vets for over 30 years and met some wonderful kind and incredibly talented vets, nurses and team who have shown me and my animals such compassion. Since vets have gradually been getting bought by private investors who probably don't own a pet between them, prices have soared!! And services have suffered. Standard procedures such as a check up, prescriptions and vaccinations are extortionate and most vets no longer have on-site emergency service so we run a real risk of having to travel miles with a desperately sick animal in the small hours when a vet should be willing to be on call by rota just in your local town. They have most of the technology and equipment now. That's a service we as pet owners should be getting for these massive price hikes. No, I'm afraid I will not recommend my vets anymore or any other, while we need them it's best to just use the one you know and put up a fight to make waves. We have to somehow try to get this industry and pet insurance to turn back to a caring fairly priced service before pets become affordable only for the wealthy which is a real and ridiculous possibility. Ailments will go untreated for too long because people will be trying to manage at home to avoid these ridiculous prices for tests. Animals will be treated like guinea pigs and then be even more ill! It's just gone insane and I'm so dis heartened.

I find Eastgate Vets at Mildenhall absolutely amazing. Every vet I have there seen has been so kind and caring to my dogs and me. I recently lost my Cavi and her vet and the staff were so kind and helped me so much with my loss. I can never thank them enough for their help and understanding at such a sad time. I now have a little puppy and he is so relaxed and happy going there. My dogs have been treated so well, even little treats to settle them before injections etc. So thank you all at Eastgate Mildenhall for your wonderful care and love of animals .
