The new cat waiting area has made such a huge difference for us! In the past, my darling cat would sulk for at least three days after a visit to the vets, no treats, no affection, nothing at all. However, with the Feliway plugged in and a quieter space away from the dogs, she was so much calmer. I even left her there for a few minutes while I paid and booked our next appointment, and on the way home she was noticeably more relaxed. When we got home, I was amazed. I got a few little purrs and some gentle headbutts, which has never happened before straight after a vet visit in her 11 years! Thank you so much to the staff, everyone has always been incredibly kind, and a special thank you to the vet who saw us. I’m truly so grateful. Also, to the commenter who said Lida Vets is “money-grabby” — I’ve had the complete opposite experience. They’ve always been open and honest about the cost of medications and treatments across multiple visits with both my cat and my dogs, and I’ve consistently been given different options to choose from. Highly recommend this practice!

My partner and I were clients of this practice until 2025, but ultimately chose to leave due to concerns about pricing transparency and communication. During our time here, we frequently experienced costs that felt unexpectedly high. For Example, we were charged around £43 for a 15ml bottle of Metacam, which we later found could be obtained online with a prescription for under £15. After reviewing a number of our invoices, we became concerned about what appeared to be significant markups on various items. We fully understand that veterinary practices have overheads and may apply dispensing fees. However, in our experience, these costs were not always clearly explained in advance, which made it difficult to make informed decisions at the time. As much of the treatment was covered by insurance, this lack of clarity only became apparent later. We also felt that some recommended tests and treatments were not always explained in sufficient detail, particularly in terms of necessity, alternatives, or overall cost. This sometimes left us uncertain about the justification for certain decisions. More recently, a close friend reported a similar experience, particularly regarding unclear pricing and how queries were handled. While this is anecdotal, it reinforced our own concerns. For these reasons, we would strongly encourage other pet owners to ask for clear breakdowns of costs upfront, request explanations of all treatment options, and consider seeking a second opinion before proceeding with more expensive or complex care. Unfortunately pet owners place a great deal of trust in their vets during stressful and emotional times and can be left vulnerable. Therefore ensure you seek a second opinion at a different veterinerian office if you feel unsure about costs and the explanations received. We have since moved to another practice where we feel communication is clearer and pricing is more transparent, which has given us greater confidence in the care our pets receive. This review reflects our personal experience and perspective only. Others may have different views. We are sharing this feedback in good faith, as we believe transparency and clear communication are essential in building trust between veterinary practices and pet owners.
