About McPhersons Veterinary Practice
Welcome to McPhersons Veterinary Practice, located in the heart of Mansfield, Nottinghamshire, England. Our friendly and caring team of veterinary professionals invites you and your furry, feathered, or scaly friends to come and experience the highest quality of care for your beloved pets.
Our veterinary practice is led by three partners who are passionate about animal welfare and have many years of experience in the field. Miss Janice Dixon, Dr Douglas McPherson, and Mr Timothy Rogers are all BVetMed and BVSc qualified and are members of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (MRCVS). They have a shared commitment to working together to provide the best outcomes for our clients.
Additionally, the team also includes Mr Aaron Gilmore, who is a VetMB, BA, and CertSAM qualified and has a passion for small animal medicine. With his diverse training and experience, he has been an essential addition to our team.
We are proud to offer veterinary services to a wide range of domestic animals, including cats, dogs, equines, and small mammals. Our veterinary practice is equipped with state-of-the-art technology, ensuring that your pets receive the highest standard of care. We continuously strive to improve our facilities, including investing in the latest equipment, to ensure that your pets receive the best possible treatment.
Our skilled veterinary nurses, Mrs Rebecca Farrar and Mrs Megan Hall, play an incredibly important role in our veterinary practice. They are qualified RVNs and provide support to our veterinary surgeons, as well as offering advice and guidance to pet owners. Their expert knowledge and compassionate approach ensure that pets receive the best care possible.
At McPhersons Veterinary Practice, we believe in preventative healthcare. Therefore, we encourage our clients to keep their pets regularly checked. Regular check-ups allow us to identify early symptoms of illness, prolonging your pets’ life expectancy. Our veterinary surgeons offer a comprehensive range of healthcare services that include routine check-ups, vaccinations, parasite prevention, and weight management.

Although we accept cases on appointment-based services, we also offer an emergency service for out-of-hours cases.

Very polite and friendly with genuine concern for your pet. I've just moved to the area with an elderly cat with issues and have been extremely happy with the care and consideration of the vet. This practice was recommended to me by very fussy owners and I am happy to do the same.

After seeing Traceys I thought id share mine I had my lad pts last year here, Although they have done many procedures for me over the years without a problem the euthanasia really plays on my mind daily. It was my first dog I have lost, it came quick, he was 2 weeks from Turning 7. He went downhill really quick. I decided to end the suffering for him which haunts me daily with guilt. The practionier didn't seem overly caring. He gave me the feeling he didn't like bull breeds and kinda enjoyed doing it. My lads soul left without any discomfort thankfully but so he should for the cost. We was in and out in 5 minutes, he asked if i wanted a moment but I wanted the he'll out of there. I would never get a dog pts here again it was a horrible experience anyway without the practionier making it worse. None of my others are going here they can go to AT Rest and have a better exit of the world.

Excellent friendly, efficient staff - calm and reassuring with our nervous dog. Good communication and follow up. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend.

Absolutely devastated!!! My dog was misdiagnosed which meant a hefty bill with no mention of price before going to pay,for 3 medications now in the bin after 2 doses.emergency care required New Year’s Eve with an even heftier bill resulting in my dog having to be put to sleep!!! Devastated is an understatement!!! I would not recommend this practice to anyone!!! If I could have given zero stars I would have!!

Mcphersons veterinary practice go above and beyond when caring for your beloved pet. They are obviously animal lovers and do they utmost to get the best treatment plan and they are always upfront with any costs involved. Kirsty is amazing and I cannot thank her enough for all the time she has dedicated to helping my dog to recover from a life threatening condition.
