Avoid at any cost. The most expensive vet in the area. To call their pricing dishonest is an understatement. Even if you have to take taxi to go elsewhere it will be worth it - still much, much cheaper - for real, I checked! I booked my cat for a health check at Paxton Veterinary Clinic Dulwich (231 Gipsy Rd, Norwood) - consultation cost £65 (this is a normal/average price for a vet consultation in the area). The consultation took a whole 6 minutes just to find out what I already knew from Google... fair enough. Of course before treatment can be prescribed you must do a blood test - understandable. The blood test price, behold - £240 only! Really? I called at least 3 other vet clinics in the area - prices for the same bood test range from £120 to £200. But if you go to Paxton Veterinary Clinic Dulwich it will cost you £240 (+ £65 consultation fee). Shameful! And just in case you wondered, it's a regular clinic, no spa or free drinks offered.

Always really helpful, kind and understanding. Alfie is very loved at this clinic and the staff always give him time and attention. As a dog owner I always feel calm and supported.

My first time owning a pet. Unfortunately they do not disclose hidden fees and I have never and I mean NEVER faced such rudeness from a receptionist in my life when I was hit with an unexpected fee of over £130. Louisa pretty much threatened me via phone and text. No professionalism or consideration considering they withhold necessary fee information beforehand. Some staff are great but overall- I will not forget how I was spoken to. I prefer to travel with my pet than use my local who do not respect their customers. Especially if you’re at all impacted my the cost of living. Very strange advocates for healthcare. Louisa acted more like a bailiff and a bully.

Drove two hours to see Pru who came highly recommended with a disabled 2 year old dog with complex needs. Pru is extremely intelligent Both a vet and clinical canine behaviourist. She noticed things we had missed. Well worth the drive! If you need a specialist vet for a complicated dog then it's worth travelling to help understand your animal within a holistic manner. Have additional tests and try other medications that may help.

I prefer to see pru when I visit with my dog (she is nearly 15) as she is compassionate and upstanding with my worries. Pru listens and will give alternatives treatments. She absolutely deserves 5 stars.

I found Paxton vets for my 2 bunny rabbits after moving from the USA to France to the UK. It is very hard to find experienced rabbit veterinarians (especially in a new country). But Paxton Vets treat them so well, with such gentle kindness and always listen intently to my concerns so I feel heard and understood. They are clearly knowledgeable with rabbits and I trust them. Whenever I have a question the vet herself gets back to me (same day) via email with the answers I need, suggestions, etc. It is clear customer and pet care are of top priority here at Paxton Vets (Gipsy Road) - many thanks!
