Pool House Veterinary Group - Armitage

I joined Pool House around seven months ago after moving back to the area, as they had always looked after our family pets well in the past. Unfortunately, the experience this time was very different. One of our dogs has a chronic illness and needs regular appointments, but continuity of care was almost impossible. The practice often couldn't tell us which vet would be available for follow-up visits, and there were repeated issues collecting medication. On one occasion, a prescription wasn't ready as expected, leaving our dog without pain medication for an extended period. The final straw was cancelling our Pet Health Club membership after moving to another local practice. We were charged a £60 cancellation fee and, despite the circumstances, discussions quickly turned to debt collection rather than finding a resolution or showing any empathy (such as waiving a fee due the reasons for leaving, which PHC confirmed to me is totally in the control of the vet practice) We've since moved elsewhere and the difference has been crazy, more compassionate care, better communication, greater consistency, and lower costs! Sadly, based on our experience, I wouldn't recommend Pool House for pets requiring ongoing treatment and regular veterinary support.

Brilliant vets, receptionists are polite, caring and very helpful. I cant fault them at all. I have had 3 dogs under them. They have saved one of my dogs lives twice. They were so compassionate when we had to say goodbye to another dog, didn't rush us at all even when we fetched her ashes. I would not go to any other vet.

I needed an urgent appointment yesterday as my groomer had found a tick on one of my dogs - something I've never had in 20 years of owning dogs. I phoned Pool House in Armitage, my vets for over 20 years, and they fitted me in half an hour later! Absolutely delighted to have received such excellent service.

Absolutely amazing group of people. Everyone from the vets, to the nurses and the reception staff are so lovely and you can tell everyone loves what they do! They treat my dogs with such kindness and gentleness, even though my little terrier can be a typical cheeky chappy. Both of my dogs are quite nervous being rescues, and they always take their name with them and build trust with them. The vets will always keep me updated in their care, talking through blood results in a way I understand. Thank you for looking after my boys Socks and Noah

Vet Ian spent time talking through our options after a very thorough examination of our dog. Appt ran to time. Always a first class service from PoolHouse and definitely recommend their Health Plan.

The vet was brilliant with my nervous dog; he was very calm and put him at ease. He was also excellent at explaining everything about the medical condition and treatment. Reception staff were friendly, efficient and very informative too. Thank-you.
