Cruel and inhumane. Took my dog into their completely empty reception asking for an emergency appt. Dog was howling in pain with a recurrent ear infection they'd never bothered to get to the bottom.of. Was denied an emergency appointment by the desk clerk male, he couldn't have been more unhelpful or sarky. Despite the room being empty he said there were no emergency appoints and then he said customers have to make an appointment for an emergency appointment ! I pointed out to him how illogical that was. I asked again why no emergency appt.was available and he said 'no staff here' then he said 'maybe the Gorleston branch can see you but only if they have an emergency appt'....again I pointed out people dont make appts for emergencies because - well - duh, we are not psychic and can't predict when our pets will be ill. He blustered and got flustered and when he repeated they were all booked up (his eyes scanned the empty room) I asked if we could wait around in case a client with an appt cancelled and he said NO so - as I could see he'd reached the end of his store of fake excuses, I took pity on him and said "Right, I'll solve your problem, remove both my dogs from your client list. I'm sick of the poor service here and disgusted by.your non proactive approach. I'm registering my dogs with another vets surgery! He huffily said 'fine' and hid his face behind his computer. Dr Adriana was a fine vet but this crap about people needing to make an appt to get an emergency appt is sheer B.S. I also needed a dog spayed months ago, after discussing keyhole spaying they sent me on a wild goose chase, telling me to ring the Gorleston branch. I rang them 4 or 5 times in 3 months, their excuses ranged from they had no keyhole spaying appts, their keyhole spaying machine 'had broken down' to....wait for it....they 'didnt know they did a service for keyhole surgery spaying'. What we have here is a business chain who offers what it can't supply, who purports to have services it doesn't offer, and which expects its clients to be able to predict 'when' their pets will have a health crisis and will need an 'emergency appt' for which their owners must first make an....appt !! It's a ludicrous quixotic policy and I'm not the only.customer who has found their front counter staff unhelpful. The male who (didnt) serve me had no sympathy, no ability to think proactively, and seemed to get a kick out of denying my dog treatment for an ear infection which was so sudden and so bad that her new vet treated it just in time to stop her pus filled ear drum from bursting! So, thanks for nothing Alexandra Rd vets you jeopardised my dogs ear drum and left her in agony due to your poor service! I have total sympathy for the reviewer Chris Tudor whose pet - which you wouldn't give an emergency appt to - died at home despite the owner telling you it was desperately Ill. They pleaded with you to help save their pet. But you wouldn't even look at it! How dare you treat our pets this way! The majority of pet owners are prepared to bankrupt themselves and max out credit cards to ensure their pet companions are well looked after medically. But your business doesn't deserve our money or our patronage, it is diabolical that when pet owners plead with you for an emergency appt your desk clerk tells them they must first make an appt !! Your policies endanger our pets! The office manager Ann Marie need not bother herself to ring me to apologise nor to respond to this review. Why? My dog is 14, and dying from cancer in her left leg. She has a metal plate in her right leg from breaking it . And her ear drum was at the point of exploding when I brought her in to your Completely Empty surgery in desperate need of treatment. You couldnt even muster up the humanity to provide my ill dog with an 'emergency appt because I hadn't first made an appt !! You're not going to be able to apologise for that. And should stop advertising that emergency appts are available when you cant provide what you promise! Our new vet loves animals! Youre a business. And it shows.Horribly.

Been with these folks for just over a year after relocating. Very happy with everything. My cat is a very stressed out boy when visiting the vets but everyone is very welcoming and kind, putting his dad at ease at least. Lovely waiting area and the reception team are welcoming and have a sense of humour as well! Thanks for your continued care of pickles.

I’m giving this vet 1 star because they refused to see my pet in an emergency. I called and begged for help, but they turned us away. My pet needed urgent care and is now gone. No animal should ever be denied help when they’re suffering. I’m heartbroken and deeply disappointed in how this situation was handled.

This is not my usual local Vets, we are registered at the Gorleston branch. I will be making two reviews for each branch. Quick overview, My local Gorleston-on-Sea branch had no appointments to see my cat with blood coming from mouth for a week, so they asked if I could go to the lowestoft branch the next day at 5.40, I agreed as I was worried about my cat. The appointment was made by the Gorleston branch on the phone by the triage nurse. Arrived at lowestoft branch to be told no appointment had been made by Gorleston it didn't surprise me though going on how bad the Gorleston branch is now. But the lowestoft branch, the lady on reception with purple ish hair was more than helpful and went out of her way to help us since we travelled there. She called the Gorleston branch, no help from then anyways, but the lady asked the vet nurse to take a look at our cat as the vet was fully booked. The nurse checked our cats mouth and found just an ulcer which was healing well and didn't really need another appointment with the vet, she was really helpful and took time to help us and put our mind at rest. Common sense here for a change from a vets, just how it was years ago before it ended up just for profit. Thanks for the lowestoft staff for their help and they didn't even charge us. I would of been happy to pay.

What can I say? Simply that this is by far the best veterinary practice I have ever been to. My dogs cannot wait to go in and be fussed. No more trembling and backing away because they are going to the vet. They instinctively know they are in safe and loving hands. I can never thank them enough for how we have been treated. I have never heard a bad word spoken about them. They truly are 'simply the best!'
