I've been registered here for 5years with my mastiff. The staff are amazing right from when she was 8wks old up to now being 5yrs old. They completely cater to whatever your dog needs from the receptionist straight thru to vet care. Staff are outstanding very informative during consultations and answer every question you have. They really help put you and your animal at ease making the whole process calm and easy. I would 100% recommend Westport vets for your animals vetinary care.

We lived in Aberdeen, using the same trusted vet for 30 years. When we moved to Linlithgow it was with some trepidation that we registered with the independently owned but larger Westport Vets practice. In the first few years our dog required only occasional treatment which was always good. However it was when our dog, now a senior, suddenly became ill in October with a spinal issue that we benefitted from the round the clock care. Our dog took ill in the evening and was immediately seen at our usual practice by their wonderful out of hours service. Tobias diagnosed her condition with great professionalism and compassion, taking time to explain it in detail to us. He even phoned the following evening to check on her and to offer further advice on how to proceed. Daytime staff have also been extremely helpful: when our dog’s condition worsened the following day she was again seen immediately; specialist advice was sought from the vet school and conveyed to us, questions were answered in detail and suggestions made about ways to prevent further injury and keep our dog comfortable during her protracted recovery. We are grateful that our dog’s condition is still being carefully monitored. We hear a lot about the cost of vet’s charges but as we are members of the Westport Friends Extra scheme and pay a monthly fee, this excellent care has not cost as much as we had feared because all Westport consultations are included. Furthermore, at no point were we encouraged to have unnecessary expensive tests. We are very grateful to have found a practice where Stuart and his staff are not only professional but also kind and friendly. June McRae

We got our puppy 2 weeks ago, signed up with West Port Vets, and they couldn’t have been more helpful and welcoming! We had a little panic one night and called the 24 hour team, and the level of service was outstanding. The lady made us feel so understood and at rest when we had some worries, and made sure we knew we could call back anytime. We then had our first jag visit, and the full team were amazing. He was so at ease the full visit. All tips and advice was so appreciated. We can’t thank you enough with all the help on our first pup! 🐶

We have a dog and two BSH cats, and although they are still only babies one of them (Yogi Bear) has a virus that was attacking his teeth and gums. Our existing vet extracted 6 of his teeth and left it at that despite us telling him he was still in pain and generally unwell. His answer to that (eventually) was you can't do anything about that virus so he is stuck with it. There were quite a few other things we were unhappy with as well so it was time to hunt for another vet. After doing weeks of research, reading reviews and talking to other pet owners we settled on Westport vets at Linlithgow. Yogi went in yesterday for his treatment. I was absolutely amazed at the level of care, professionalism, communication, cleanliness and results. Stuart not only found the underlying cause (along with the fractured tooth and snapped off root left in his gums by the previous vet when he did pre and post op x-rays) but sorted it after one conversation with him. The level of after care is better than the NHS, and the staff (and there are lots of them) are so friendly and helpful. Within 24 hrs Yogi is a different cat. I can't thank Stuart and his vast team enough, and with full 24/7 professional support for emergencies this veterinary practice is a dream come true. Not a hint of profit before pets, and with this practice you actually get more than you pay for. I am one very happy owner of 3 lucky fur babies.

Would like to thank all the staff and particularly Tobias for the great care he gave buzz. It was so sudden and his help and opinion was invaluable. Never pushy just always thinking about Buzz and making sure we were kept up to date when he was kept in overnight. We have only been with Westport 4 yrs and never received this service from our previous vets. Although the outcome wasn’t what we wanted we know Buzz was looked after and never frightened when having to stay over. Thank you again from Buzz’s family .Angela

I've had such bad experiences with vets with my cats in the past. So I de idea to make the Switch to Westport about a year ago with my new Bengal boys and they have shown me what vets are meant to be like. They don't favour a specific animal type, they are so helpful on the phone and if they can help without needing to take your pet in, they will, they offer fantastic advice and calm nerves when needed. I've had my little boy in a few times the past few weeks with minor emergencies and they have been so accomodating, they always hit the nail on the head and he's back with me within a few hours good as new! I'm honestly so thankful, I'm a nervous mommy and hate my pets being in pain. They're 24 hour service is impeccable and they app (where you can get updates if your pet is in the surgery and advice if you are unsure to come in or not) is amazing, we got photo updates after them being neutered. Thankyou so much, I recommend you to everyone I meet! Love Ash and Corey x the noisy bengals

My partner and I were disappointed with my experience at Westport Vets. We felt our dog was not fully assessed or treated appropriately and staff seemed very inexperienced, and the treatments were avoided based on her breed rather than her individual temperament and behaviour. Their communication was poor overall ans we left feeling judged and unsupported. We would have appreciated a more individualised, professional approach. Unfortunately, this has affected my trust in the practice.
