I'm so pleased that I decided to register my cat at this wonderful Veterinary Practice. After adopting him as a kitten last year, I chose Vets for Pets Somercotes due to it having been highly recommended to me by numerous people. They weren't wrong! Everything from the friendliness + helpfulness of the Reception Team to the excellent care from Nurses & Veterinary Surgeons, this place gets top marks from me every time. All of the staff are kind & personable with a genuine love for animals, which makes dealing with them a calm & reassuring experience, despite vet visits being generally quite stressful. Thank you for the amazing service that you provide! 😁

I have been here a few times and every single staff member has greeted us with nothing but kindness and warm welcomes. Shaun and everyone on the front desk are god sends of human beings and the vets are absolutely amazing too. The care my dogs receive is nothing but outstanding and I will always bring them here because I know that they will be looked after by amazing people that genuinely care.

We have been coming to this vets for 5 years now with 4 cats. The team are so amazing. I would like to personally mention Christoff who has an absolutely refreshing manner with animals. He is so knowledgeable, straight talking, fair with pricing and always giving you options and sound advice. I love his no nonsense and fast action to get the job done. No faffing and clear instructions. The animals all love him and so do we... I genuinely wouldn't take my pets anywhere else. Thanks for putting up with Steve the stray and Dexter the ginger ninja. We really do appreciate the kindness and help we have received recently. Although vets bills are never nice we really feel that we get what we pay for x

When we moved to Alfreton and adopted our new kitten I was worried about testing out a new vets with a major operation like a Spay. Then we met Merve, and all my worries melted away. Merve shows genuine care and compassion for my animals and I'm convinced she loves them as much as I do (and they seem to love her right back)! Brilliant advice, dutiful care, and excellent levels of communication. The receptionists are also wonderful and it's so lovely to see them shower everyone's pets with love too.

Friendly, caring and very experienced. My puppy was so poorly and my regular vet could not fit me in, they recommended V4P Somercotes who pulled out all the stops to reassure me, take care of Sadie and within 48 hours she was off her sick bed THANK YOu so much, your receptionists are all Stars too 🥰♥️🥰♥️

I've been taking my dog Oreo here since he was 8 weeks old, he turns 5 in a couple weeks and they've been by our side throughout everything, amazing team from the vets to the front desk, everyone is absolutely delightful. We've had some nasty health issues in the last 5 years and Oreo wouldn't be the happy, healthy boy he is today without Vets for Pets.

One star is far too many for the experiences I’ve had with vets4pets Somercotes. Genuinely one of the most insensitive experiences I have ever had from a vet practice. My fur baby, Bayleigh, had been under their care for ongoing health issues and I informed them immediately after she passed away at home with the help of an out of hours vets who I can’t thank enough for their help and compassion. You would think that would be enough to stop appointment reminders being sent. Apparently not. Since her death, I have continued receiving multiple reminders for blood tests and follow-up appointments despite being told their “system had been updated.” Losing a pet is heartbreaking enough without having to repeatedly reopen the wound every time another text or reminder comes through. If anyone should understand the emotional impact of losing an animal, it should be a veterinary clinic, yet the complete lack of care, attention and compassion shown here has been shocking. What makes this even worse is that Bayleigh actually received her end-of-life care through a different vet because I wanted her to pass peacefully at home surrounded by family. One single interaction with that vet during the worst moment of my life showed me more compassion, empathy and humanity than I experienced in nearly 10 years bringing my dogs here. Mistakes happen once. Continuing to send reminders after being notified of a death is just careless and deeply insensitive. Safe to say I will now be moving my remaining boys to another vet because this experience completely destroyed any trust I had in the practice. Compassion costs absolutely nothing.
