My bobbie had to stay in for the weekend because his melting eye ulcer was ready to explode and he wouldn't let me pop in his eye drops the vet and nurses were so good at making his stay friendly with love and cuddles that he loves going back twice a week for his checkup appointments

As much as I have visited Greece & rural mainland Greece to help the Strays, Puppies, Cats & Kittens & met the veterinary clinics on the front line, Medivets are up there amongst the best of the best. My little boy was admitted immediately and had his heart drained promptly. They understand & see everything upon your animals wealth & wellbeing. From my experience Medivets duty of care & Loyalty are truly above & beyond. Heaven sent angels 😇 🐾🐾

The staff at Medivet Alfreton are fantastic. I had to take our cat in for an emergency over the weekend, and they were all incredible in looking after him and giving him the care he needed. The vet even carried out a procedure he hadn’t performed before, and it was done brilliantly. All the staff were professional, reassuring, and made me feel that our cat was in the best possible hands. Thank you to all the team at medivet Alfreton

From arriving early morning to leaving early evening the service was exemplary. Took my Kitten Belle to be spayed and all the staff were extremely friendly and couldn’t do enough to make a stressful day more manageable. Well done all!

Thank you so much for fitting us in the same day and being so understanding. You made us at ease saying goodbye to our beloved 14 year old Boy Bernard. You explained the process, gave us time to say our goodbyes. He was so comfortable and at peace. Sorry I can't remember the vets Name. My emotions where just focused on Bernard. But she was lovely and made the whole process comforting. To have that time with our boy meant the world. Thank You

Thank you for ensuring that our dear Casey (11) was treated like the queen that she was and that her last moments were that of peace and comfort as she headed over the rainbow bridge. We miss her dearly, but will be taking her ashes back to SA to spread on her favourite beach, Kommetjie, along with her brothers ashes Max (7 yrs old). Thank you Medivet

Visit with 15 year old chihuahua Mowglie to see Tom for general check up and eye test. As always reception staff friendly and efficient. Tom was pleasant as always, chatty, asking about all the crew. Full exam of Mowglie, a good chat and advice provided. Excellent as always.

MEDIVET ALFRETON After years of trusting Medivet Alfreton with the care of our pets, it is incredibly disappointing to now be writing this review. Over the years, this practice has treated three of our cats and both of our dogs, which makes our recent experience all the more upsetting. We booked our cat in for a neutering procedure and specifically arranged for him to be admitted in the earliest possible appointment slot to reduce stress and waiting time. However, three hours after dropping him off, my wife contacted the practice for an update and was told that the procedure had still not been carried out, with no clear indication of when it would happen. This situation was especially distressing for us due to previously losing a seven-month-old kitten to FIP shortly after a neutering procedure. Naturally, this made us extremely anxious about leaving our cat waiting unnecessarily for prolonged periods. My wife expressed her frustration and concern to the practice manager. She was understandably upset, but at no point did she use threatening, abusive, or obscene language. To our surprise, we then received a phone call shortly afterwards instructing us to collect our cat immediately, as the practice would no longer proceed with his treatment and our custom was no longer welcome. We absolutely agree that veterinary staff should never be subjected to genuine abuse, and we fully support practices protecting their employees from unacceptable behaviour. However, there is a significant difference between abuse and a worried owner expressing dissatisfaction and concern when agreed arrangements appear not to have been followed. In our view, our distress was completely misunderstood and handled poorly. What saddens us most is that, after years of loyalty to this practice, our first complaint appears to have resulted in our relationship with them being abruptly ended. Sadly, based on this experience, we can no longer recommend this practice to other pet owners.

Picked up an injured dog off the side of the road only to be accused of it being my own dog and shouted at for it not being under my control inside. Then physically shewed out of the door for saying I cannot take the dog back home with me again. Horrible attitude start to finish next time will just leave the dog on the side of the road and not try and do a good thing.
