Thank you to vets for pets Sunderland for taking care of our beautiful Ken through his treatment and passing. All staff showed they truly cared and we were overwhelmed by the beautiful card and prints when we collected Ken yesterday. Thank you so much, your kind gestures did not go unnoticed in a really difficult time.

Whilst we use Sunderland South for our dog’s regular boosters, they excelled themselves when he ate something he shouldn’t just prior to the Easter weekend. He was seen immediately and without quibble. The vet quickly diagnosed the issue and surgery was the only option. Everyone was so nice and went above and beyond at what has been an extremely worrying time for us all. They even took care of our insurance claim which was paid without question and within a week. Can’t thank you all enough and the support on WhatsApp even when closed has been a lifeline. We wouldn’t go anywhere else.

Absolutely livid with my visit to this vets this evening. Called to make an appointment basically seeking a second opinion about my cat. Explained my situation to the receptionist and was advised they'd get my pets history from my usual vet. Was told it would cost £48.50. Got there to be told she was booked in for a health check with no abnormalities present! I had told them she had suspected return of cancer and this was the whole purpose of my visit. I was then told a second opinion is £80 as it's an extended appointment. I dragged my 13 year old cat out in busy traffic, when she absolutely hates her carrier and is also possibly near her end of life so I want her time to be as stress free as possible. Absolutely fuming. The receptionist getting the blame but of course, she wasn't there and they'll have a chat with her when she's in again. Absolute farce. They'd even obtained her history from my usual vet to go through her notes to see what my vets have said, so they couldn't have misunderstood. My initial appointment at my regular vet took 5 minutes, we don't need a 30 minute appointment to have a look at something and see if you agree. Fuming beyond words. Why would I book in for a health check with no suspected issues when my 13 year old cat has suspected metastatic cancer, which I did state on the phone call that should have been recorded. Not professional at all. This second opinion was simply for my own peace of mind, not medically necessarily. If they'd told me in the first place it would be £80 I'd have paid it, but to wait til I was there and then tell me a second opinion was more money, even though it was in the notes that that was what I was after and they'd booked me in for a health check is inexcusable. Sounds like a ruse to me.

Fabulous friendly staff and male vet was patient and friendly aswell as professional, especially as I have a quiet, nervous small rescue dog. Many thanks I have used this vets before with previous dogs and its great. Also plenty of parking out front close to vets, handy if like me you have to carry your small dog in. Grass bits fenced round carpark for toilet before and after vets for your dog. Also next door is greggs and Coop so handy to pop in either straight after or before vets while dog in car or in vets. Greggs there has tables and chairs outside if you need a cuppa while you wait for your pet or friends or a lift. Easy access to car park left off main dual carriageway type road for me and then on way back an easy up to roundabout and right turn to go back home. Thanks
