(-1 Star) I booked this appointment after being told by reception that expressing my dog's anal glands would cost £21.50. During the appointment, Adam was unable to perform what should have been a routine procedure and had to seek help from another vet. At no point before this happened was I informed that involving another veterinarian could lead to additional charges, nor was I asked for my consent. Despite being quoted £21.50, I was charged £38. What I found completely unacceptable was what happened afterwards. When I returned to question why I was being charged more for a procedure that Adam was unable to perform himself, I was told that consulting another vet could have resulted in an additional charge of around £50. This was the first time any extra fee had been mentioned. Let that sink in. I was quoted £21.50 for a routine procedure, ended up paying £38, and only after questioning the bill was I informed that I could have faced approximately £50 more in additional charges because the vet needed assistance from a colleague. I was never informed of this possibility beforehand. I was never asked whether I agreed to any additional costs. I was simply expected to accept the outcome afterwards. I have no issue paying for professional veterinary care. What I do object to is being charged more than the quoted price for a procedure that the vet was unable to perform independently, while potential additional costs were not disclosed until after the fact. As a customer, I expect competence, transparency and honest communication regarding fees. Instead, I left feeling that the pricing was unclear, the communication was poor, and that I was being expected to bear the cost of a situation that was not of my making. If a vet is unable to carry out a routine procedure without assistance, that should not become the client's financial responsibility without prior discussion and consent. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this practice.

We had an emergency with our Frenchie while visiting our daughter. He ate a spring he found and vets for pets were brilliant finding the spring stuck behind his back teeth.

Adam is lovely with my big grumpy cat. I try to keep to the same vet to make the visit easier on my boy who was a stray for 7 years. Having a family, food and medical care is lot to get use too.

My cat Rocky had been missing from Seaham, County Durham for over 2 weeks. The family that found him took him here to get him scanned for microchip. They telephoned me while I was at work to say they had him. I couldn't get there for him for about 5 hours with me being at work. They kept him there for me and fed and looked after him. They were absolutely brilliant. Cannot praise them enough!

Had to get my little boy put to sleep after 14 years. They handled it with kindness and compassion, I got a card a few days later with his paw prints and some fur which was a lovely touch
