Highly recommend this vets. They got our little dog in quickly for 19 teeth extractions. Everything was explained in detail by both the vet and the nurse. Lovely staff, very friendly and very caring. 👍🥰

ADDENDUM: True to form, Alnorthumbria Vets (AV) have again impressed me with their professionalism and attention to detail. After posting the review below, I very quickly received an e mail from the Senior Clinical Director of the Practice thanking me for my review, apologising and advising that she would make enquiries with the vet nurse in question. Just over 24 hours later, the issue was resolved. She had spoken to the vet nurse and plans were in place to assist her with her communication skills. This is all I would want. Her offer of a free consultation and/or a telephone call was politely declined - there is no need, that she responded so quickly to my review was enough. Don't let my review dissuade you from using AV. As you can see from this note, they really are excellent and they do care about their customers. My horses and dogs have benefitted from their care over the years and I wouldn't go anywhere else. ...................................................................................................... It has taken me 6 days to decide to leave this poor review as I don't usually leave such reviews on internet sites. Also, I have been with Alnorthumbria Vets for many years and on all occasions everyone, receptionists, nurses and vets have been absolutely excellent. They are really lovely. But, I am still aggrieved at the poor attitude of the vet nurse I saw for my dog to have a 6 month 'healthy vet nurse check' and the whole experience was upsetting. I have no wish to enter her name here but I have called the Practice to ask that a note is made on my records that I do not want to see her again - for anything. During what seemed like a very rushed appointment, her attitude was abysmal. She did not smile once during the appointment, didn't speak to my little spaniel, just rattled off questions, one after the other. The advice she gave was sound but her manner throughout was abrupt, dismissive and unacceptable. There was no mention of any positives whatsoever, and some could have been made: his coat is well-groomed, shining and clean, his nails are clipped, his vaccinations, worming and flea treatment are up to date, etc. There are ways to deliver criticism and, in my 70's, I can do without being made to feel neglectful. By all means tell me, but not in such an admonitory tone - who does brush their dog's teeth twice a day, as I was advised ! This is the first healthy vet nurse check I have taken Toby to. If this is how your vet nurses conduct these assessments, I won't be attending another.

Our poodle was in some discomfort on the evening and was being sick. We were up in Seahouses for a weeks holiday. We had no car so had to rely on a taxi to get to the practice. It was in the very early hours of Monday morning. The vet Amy and the vet nurse were marvellous us! Made a fuss of my dog who was quite anxious and put me at ease. Amy gave my dog a full MOT plus blood tests check no nasties. Had an injection ..the dog that is.. and within minutes my dog seemed better and happier! Thank you so much.

This vets helped my wife and I navigate one of the worst days of our lives with compassion, care and strength when we desperately needed it. Our Rottweiler was put to sleep here and the staff we dealt with were incredible. Our boy had severe anxiety and reactivity attending the vets so we had to use sedatives to calm him beforehand, the girls helped me carry my boy into the practice, gave me & my wife as much time as we wanted to say goodbye, talked us through every step and you could see they genuinely cared about what was happening & were devastated for us & our boy. I want to specifically thank Katie, we requested some of our boys hair, nose & paw prints and whilst sat at home that very same night a sympathy card with those items inside came through the letterbox so Katie has done that in her own time, to receive those on the same day and have a little piece of our boy home meant more than words can say. I would recommend this vets to anyone no matter what pet they wish to have looked after. Thank you.

I brought my dog to the vet for a lump, I told the vet she had it 1 and half months to 2 months, she put in her notes I said 3 - 4 months she had it and know I can not get my pet insurance to pay as she has lied about what I said to her

We have been with this practice for around 20yr and always had between 2 and 4 dogs which I think speaks volumes. We like all the vets but clinical director Jo instills confidence and calm with us which goes along way in keeping us here.

I used this vet for the first time this week (Morpeth branch), because I couldn't get my dog seen by the pdsa anymore cause I no longer live in the catchment. I found a lump, I knew it was probably not going to be good news, so needed her seen as soon as possible. From my first call with the receptionist, to the vet appointment the next day, my experience with them was amazing. I was too emotional to remember the name of the vet I saw, but the lady who saw pearl on Wednesday the 23 Oct, was so lovely, we had a chat about the lump her symptoms/behaviour etc... At no point did I feel rushed, dismissed or pressured into paying for an expensive biopsy, all options were offered and discussed, and had the prognosis been a 50/50 chance I would have paid for it, but it wasn't, all things considered I made the decision to take my girl home with pain management for the half term so my me and my kids could take this week to say our goodbyes and not put her through unnecessary treatments that would prolong her life, but not improve her quality of life. Loosing a pet is never easy, having to make a decision like I've had to is so difficult because you'll always have a bit of guilt and question your decision. Your vet was so compassionate and supportive, without any judgement, I left heartbroken, but certian that I was doing the best thing for my baby girl. So thank you for not only seeing my girl so quickly, but for making a difficult time just that little bit more bearable. If/when we get another pet, I will definitely be registering them with your practice.

Our pup had an infection after her spay and had to spend a couple of nights hospitalised. The care she had was second-to-none and you can see how much the team care for their patients in how delighted they were with her recovery. Thanks to each and every one of you.
