We brought our dog in the other night, and unfortunately, we had to make the heartbreaking decision to end her suffering. Before she passed, we agreed to have her individually cremated by Summerleaze because we thought that burying her body would be too upsetting. After this discussion, the attending vet asked us if, after her passing, we could “help put her where she needs to go.” We agreed because the vets who euthanised our previous dog had removed his body with respect and care, and we assumed the staff at Summerleaze would do the same. What actually happened was shocking. After our dog died, the vets brought out a large bin bag and my dad and brother were left to help put her body inside it. My dad was then left to carry the bag to an old wooden shed. This was a very upsetting final memory to have of our poor dog.

I have to say that Summerleaze vets were amazing yesterday. I have to say a big Thank you to Otto, the surgeon on duty on Wednesday and Thursday who looked after my cat Jasper. Sadly I had to let him go and Otto was so kind and helped my Jasper to have a peaceful, dignified end. I was allowed plenty of time to say my goodbyes and didn’t feel rushed. Also a big thank you to the receptionist on duty at the time, sorry didn’t get her name .

Awful place. I took my cat with an ear infection and paid £280, which was not even out of hours service. The vet performed "extra consultations" without notifying me that they were chargeable (another £90). I was also charged £70 for ear drops which cost £20 on the Pet Drugs Online. The following day I took my other cat to a different clinic and paid £140 for the same service! I was given a prescription for a drug and was able to order it myself at a much cheaper cost. Rest assured I won't leave it at that and will make a formal complaint to Veterinary Client Mediation Service (VCMS) who overlooks misconduct. I would advise anyone else to do the same to the money ripping organisations who pray on people's and animals' vulnerability. Shame on you!!!!

I just have to say a massive thankyou to the lady vet that saw me yesterday with my darling cat Yoshi. Unfortunately it was a bit of an emergency as my nearly 20 year old cat was failing fast and although we honestly wished he would pass away peacefully at home, I knew as cat mum's will know, it wasn't going to happen that way. Rang summerleaze and straightaway they said bring my darling in . I was treated with so much compassion and kindness and felt very reassured that I was doing the right thing to euthanize him. The vet examined him, explained everything and let me and Yoshi do everything at our own pace. It was a huge decision and this lady was an angel. Thankyou so so so much. As the vet obviously saw, I was so distressed having to make this decision, but you was so careful and caring with he and me both. Can't recommend or than you enough. Xxxx

Summerleaze has had a lot of bad press in social media in the past, so I wanted to leave a review for the most positive experience from initial contact to the vets and beyond. I had a stressful situation with my dog and expected a consult, probably MRI etc etc, (you really shouldn’t google the symptoms!!) but from the lovely staff on reception, to Alison and Eve, his condition was handled calmly, diagnosed and antibiotics prescribed promptly. The follow up was excellent and reception (Danielle? Sorry didn’t catch the name) went out of her way to ensure the communication between the vets and I was excellent and when she said she would communicate. Thank you Summerleaze!

Some vets get a bad name, not Summerleaze. Absolutely excellent and trustworthy. Big shout out to Lilly and Hannah who looked after our rather large tortoise (Joyce) and to Joy, Gabriella and Lyndon who always look after us (and pets) so well. 7 month old puppy (Lily) and 17 year old cat (Dennis) love these people as well. Thank you all so much.
