Our family has used Ashby Woodward for years and most of the time have been great. People are mostly lovely, sometimes vets can be a bit too ‘excitable’ I think is the right term. When I’ve came with my mum she has a dog and we’ve often felt the vet has wound the dog up. Another thing we would say needs work on is the transparency of prices. I asked for my last appointment if was included in the plan and I got in an email that yes it was included I obviously knew I would have to pay for the additional medication my cat would need. Only to find out when we got to collect medication after the appointment I needed to pay for an eye test this was my first time hearing about this. Anyone would assume this was included in the appointment as it was 99% of the appointment. So I am unhappy about this I would have been less so if I was told before hand. And how I stated in my email it was a problem with his eye you would think that they would mention this. Apart from those points I’m happy being a Woodward customer and will continue to do so. Thank you ☺️

I recently visited here that left a really positive impression on me. From the moment I walked in, the staff were welcoming, friendly, and genuinely caring toward both me and my pet. The waiting area was clean and calm, which helped reduce my dog’s anxiety. The vet Hilal was particularly impressive. She took the time to thoroughly examine my pet. I appreciated how she answered all my questions patiently and didn’t rush the appointment. It was clear she truly cared about the wellbeing of animals, not just treating symptoms but also offering helpful advice for ongoing care.

My furry friend collapsed at home.. in a panic I rang woodwards, the receptionist kept repeatedly asking my address , asked for the dogs name 3 times.. in the end I said can I just bring him… When I got to the surgery I was asked the same questions.. then given a form to fill in with the same questions.. I even had to write my dogs name in capital letters just so she understood!.. Eventually I was called in by the vet within 5 minutes I was sort of told a diagnosis and how much it would cost to investigate… the vet told me to go away and think about it and that she would send me some information…I went back out to the receptionist who obviously took my money and laughed at my dog saying ‘ u gave ur mummy a fright fainting like that’ I didn’t hear from the vet I have since googled her diagnosis and it does in fact appear by dog has stage 3 heart disease… he is 12 😢 I have now booked with another practice… never again will I use them … no compassion just out for money!

I would seek a second opinion if quoted a lot of money for ‘investigative’ tests. Felt as though they were more interested in making money than caring for my cat

We brought our guinea pig, Pompom, to the clinic and were seen by a Greek doctor who was absolutely wonderful. She was incredibly kind, calm, and professional, and took the time to explain everything clearly, which really put us at ease. The reception girls were also very supportive, friendly, and helpful from the moment we arrived. We felt truly cared for and respected, and because of this positive experience we will definitely be coming back. Highly recommended.

All staff great except 1 nurse who talked at me was defensive and clearly did not like being questioned. Also upset my dog to the point another nurse was called in. No real empathy I actually thought the nurse was a vet. I did complain but not formally. Went in a few days later to collect a treatment and was glared at by receptionist. Now with another vet much cheaper and local and not owned by a mega company. Glad I not there anymore.get the feeling they are not open to feedback.

I cannot recommend Woodwards Vets Ashby enough. Every single person is lovely. My French bulldog was due her first litter. We opted for a planned C Section. When near, every vet was on standby willing to come in over the weekend if my dog was ready. Everyone is so helpful and they really care and look after your pets as if they are their own. The lovely reception ladies are welcoming and happily let your pet go in the reception area for a fuss and love. I wouldn’t take my pets nowhere else. Thank you everyone for everything you did for Willow and Rufus xx

We have just taken our very old cat to see Eddie at this veterinary practice. Wow, what a lovely and knowledgeable man, who has genuine care and compassion for the animals he sees. He sat with us for 35 minutes explaining possible options for our cat, and went into detail about his condition. Thank you so much, I couldn’t have asked for a better vet. Eddie is a credit to this practice. Thank you so much.
